According to Yuri Fedorov, the decisive factor in favor of arranging the Ring Stars In The Red Square’ boxing event was the address of Russian Boxing Federation President, Federal Guards Service Chief Evgeny Murov to Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov. Murov urged Luzhkov to add the event to the agenda of the City Day celebrations “to promote boxing in our country and advertise the forthcoming Amateur Boxing World Cup.” Moscow hosts the tournament December 5 through 15 in Megasport complex.
