Heavyweights expect early finish as pressure and power collide at O2 Arena
Deontay Wilder says he is aiming to stop Derek Chisora when they meet on April 4 in London, with both heavyweights expecting the fight to end inside the distance at The O2 Arena.
Derek Chisora and Deontay Wilder headline a DAZN PPV event available worldwide, priced at £24.99 in the UK and $44.99 in the United States, with coverage starting at 7 p.m. BST, which is 2 p.m. ET.
Chisora, 36-13 with 23 knockouts, comes in off three straight wins over Gerald Washington, Joe Joyce and Otto Wallin.
“Listen, Deontay Wilder has great power, but I can guarantee you…that I am starting so fast that this fight will not see 12 rounds,” Chisora said.
Wilder is 44-4-1 with 43 knockouts, his right hand remains one of the heaviest shots in the division, but his recent run has been uneven, with stoppage losses to Tyson Fury and Zhilei Zhang across his last six fights.
“Derek has to be perfect for 12 rounds,” Wilder said. “I only have to be perfect for two seconds.”

The styles are clear. Chisora closes distance, leans on pressure, and turns it into a physical fight. Wilder keeps range, looks for the opening, and fires straight down the middle once he has a chance.
“Derek brings pressure, but I bring a power that ends blood lines,” Wilder said. “In that ring at the O2 Arena, there will be a fight, and it will end with an explosion.”
Chisora doesn’t complicate it. Hands high, step forward, make it rough, keep the pace uncomfortable.
“Put your hands on your chin and rush at the other guy and hit him,” he said. “That’s what I’m going to do.”
If Chisora gets inside early and starts working the body, he can drag Wilder into a fight at close range. If Wilder keeps his feet set and finds the right hand first, it ends quickly.
Chisora is ranked high enough to stay in the title conversation, but at this stage, the fight itself is the test. Wilder needs the win to stay relevant. Chisora wants one more result that holds up.
The finish likely comes before the scorecards are needed.
