Ivan Rodriguez vs. Benjamin Orosco On Friday Night

27.11.06 – Chicago favorite Ivan Rodriguez will face Fort Worth native, Benjamin Orozco this Friday night at Cicero Stadium, it was announced today by Dominic Pesoli, President of 8 Count Productions. The bantamweight bout is part of DECEMBER FRENZY, another evening of world class professional boxing presented by 8 Count Productions and Bob Arum’s Top Rank Incorporated along with Miller Lite and TCF Bank..

Cicero Stadium is located at 1909 S. Laramie, just minutes from the Eisenhower and Stevenson Expressways. Doors for this event will open at 5:30pm with the first bell at 6:30pm. Tickets, starting at $30, are on sale in advance by calling 312-226-5800.

The 25 year old Rodriguez, 8-3-1 (3KO’s) returns to the 8 Count Productions ring following his six round crowd pleasing battle with Vineash Rungea on September 15th at the Aragon Ballroom.

Orzoco, 3-1-3 (2KO’s) is unbeaten in his last five fights, most recently taking a draw against undefeated Keiron Armour in Fort Worth on June 9, 2006.

Said Pesoli, “The packed house at the Aragon this past September loved Ivan’s battle with Rungea. I’m very happy to bring him back on this card. Orozco and him should make for a great fight.”

The weigh in for this event will be held at on Thursday, November 30th at 7pm at Club Aquarius, 2459 N. Pulaski on the northwest side of Chicago.
