HATTON VS. COLLAZO? ‘WE’LL SEE’ SAYS NDOU

(Sydney, Australia : 25th March 2006) IBF/WBA super lightweight world champion Ricky “Hitman” Hatton will move up in weight to face WBA welterweight world champion Luis Collazo on May 13 in Boston, USA on HBO. The fight has been announced and is scheduled to happen. But the “Black Panther” Lovemore Ndou is waiting eagerly for the next bombshell to hit..

“I said a week ago that a greater power is working behind the scenes to make Hatton vs. Ndou,” he said. “This Ricky Hatton fight has had more plot twists than any great novel!” After a number of names were considered for Hatton’s big time American debut, Juan Lazcano got the contract only to break his finger and pull out of the fight. Ndou is not convinced that another change won’t happen.

“First, I read on the Internet that Collazo wants US$1 million for the fight and hasn’t agreed to terms yet with his promoter,” explained Ndou. “Then, the great boxing writer Ron Borges reported in the Boston Globe on Friday that Collazo has already signed a contract for another fight in Germany. If Collazo’s promoter Don King can’t work out these problems, I remind Ricky Hatton’s promoters that the ‘Black Panther’ is here ready to take the fight on May 13.”

The Team Fenech boxer who is a promotional free agent, is trained by three-time world champion & International Boxing Hall of Famer Jeff Fenech, with a record of 41 wins, 8 losses, 1 draw and 27 wins by knockout. The South African born Sydney, Australia resident Ndou is currently rated WBC No.3, IBF No.5 and No.9 by Ring magazine at super lightweight.

“There will be no injuries or contractual problems with me if I fight Hatton,” said 34 year-old Ndou. “I just get into the ring, give great fights and kick ass! I have said it before and I will say it again. If Ricky Hatton fights Lovemore Ndou on HBO, with the amount of punches we are both throwing and landing, CompuBox is going to blow up at ringside!”
