Jenn Perella Defeats Kate Radomska

Female flyweight prospect Jenn Perella dominated Kate Radomska en route to a six-round unanimous decision, as she won every round, all three judges’ scorecards (60-54, 60-54, 60-54) in the main event.

“Kate was a good fighter. She had a lot of experience fighting good girls overseas, and she gave me a great fight,” said Perella, who fought in her first six-round bout. “I could have done better. I could have pushed the pace more and sat down on my punches more, but back to the lab. I can always be better.”

The 2024 National Golden Gloves silver medalist pressed the action as she outworked and outlanded Radomska throughout this action-packed, entertaining fight. Perella displayed a strong jab that landed round after round, which Radomska had no answers for. She also connected on the harder punches, particularly with multiple-punch combinations to the body and head, and staggered Radomska a few times in the sixth round as she pressed for a knockdown. Radomska fought hard but was overwhelmed by Perella’s punching speed and quick feet, making it difficult for her to defend herself and land clean punches.

“Ideally, I want to fight on the big stage and on TV, but I have a couple more steps to get there. I am ready for whatever is next, like an eight-rounder and take a step up against another good fighter,” said Perella, whose two children got to see her fight live for the first time.

Perella improved to 5-1, 1 KO. She has won five in a row. Radomska, who fought in the United States for the first time, dropped to 4-9.

Granite Chin Promotions promoted their first fight card of the year, “Rumble at the Rink II,” at the Quincy Youth Arena in Quincy, Massachusetts. The main event and the six undercard bouts were televised live on BXNG TV.

Bobby “Lights Out” Laing scored a first-round knockout over Russ Kimber in the co-feature. Laing kept his undefeated record intact (3-0, 3 KOs). He is scheduled to fight again on June 6th at Fenway Park (home of the Boston Red Sox). Kember fell to 3-4, 1 KO. Laing dropped Kimber to his knees from a right hook to the body. Referee Paul Casey stopped the light heavyweight bout at one minute and 16 seconds, as Kimber was unable to beat his ten-second count.

Rich Allen made quick work of Azemier Campos Jr. en route to a first-round technical knockout. Allen dropped Campos Jr. twice, from a right hook to the body and then a right hook to the head. After the second knockdown, referee Bryan Miner stopped the middleweight fight at 48 seconds as Campos Jr. was in no shape to continue fighting. Allen upped his record to 3-0, 3 KOs. Campos Jr. (0-1) was making his professional debut.

Peter “PJ” Campbell beat Felipe Soares Da Silva via a four-round unanimous decision as he won all but one round on the three judges’ scorecards (40-36, 40-36, and 39-37). He improved his record to 2-0. Da Silva dropped to 1-5. Campbell got the better of the exchanges and connected on the harder punches throughout this heavyweight bout. Campbell is scheduled to fight again on June 6th at Fenway Park.

Max Da Silva upset Massachusetts State and WBC USA heavyweight champion Kevin “Big Gulp” Nagle by way of a third-round knockout. It was a back-and-forth, action-packed bout for the first two rounds. Da Silva began taking over the fight in the third, landing numerous hard multiple-punch combinations, but Nagle dropped Da Silva with a right uppercut. Da Silva quickly got up from the knockdown and continued to press the action on an exhausted Nagle.

Da Silva then dropped Nagle on all fours from a right hook to the head towards the end of the round. Referee Miner stopped the bout at three minutes as Nagle was unable to beat his ten-second count. Nagle lost for the first time as a professional (11-1, 8 KOs). He scored a third-round knockout over Da Silva in November 2023. Da Silva upped his record to 4-10, 4 KOs. He has won two in a row (both knockouts) and four of his last seven fights, two of which came against undefeated boxers.

Luis Valentin, who was making his professional debut (1-0), knocked Tymar Miles down five times en route to a second-round technical knockout. Miles fell to 0-7. Four of the knockdowns occurred in the first round: left jab to the head, combination punches to the body, combination punches to the head, and right hook to the head. Valentin dropped Miles for the fifth time in the second round from a right hook to the head. Referee Casey stopped the junior middleweight fight at one minute and seven seconds as Miles was in no shape to continue fighting.

Israel Bailey defeated Jay Gregory via a four-round unanimous decision as he won every round on all three judges’ scorecards (40-36, 40-36, 40-36). Bailey outworked and outlanded Gregory throughout this one-sided middleweight bout. Bailey improved to 2-0, 1 KO. Gregory dropped to 0–18-1.
