Mosley points to activity edge as Pacquiao keeps fighting while Mayweather stays out of professional rounds amid ongoing talks

Shane Mosley gives Manny Pacquiao the edge in a potential rematch with Floyd Mayweather, citing recent activity as the difference. With no fight officially confirmed and format still unclear, the timing question now shapes how a second meeting would play out.

The former three-division champion faced both men during his career. He met Mayweather in 2010, hurting him in the second round before losing a wide decision as Mayweather adjusted and took control. A year later, Mosley challenged Pacquiao for the WBO welterweight title and was dropped early before losing clearly on the scorecards.

“We don’t know what Mayweather has in the tank. He hasn’t had a fight. He’s been sparring, but he hasn’t had a fight,” Mosley said. “Pacquiao’s been fighting real competition, so I give Pacquiao the edge in this fight. But Mayweather is Mayweather, so you never know. I would probably lean towards Pacquiao more, but we’ll see,” said Mosley to ESNEWS.

A second meeting between the two has been discussed for later this year, more than a decade after their first fight drew record numbers.

Mayweather has indicated the fight could take place as an exhibition, while Pacquiao has maintained that agreements are in place for a professional contest, with records counting and a planned broadcast on Netflix.

No official confirmation has been made, and key details have not been finalized.
