“I think the fight with Oscar De La Hoya, he lost it. Review it. I know what boxing is, and if you review and watch the fight, Floyd lost. Very clear, so watch that,” Pacquiao said to the Vibe.

The rematch has been discussed for later this year with Netflix linked, but movement has slowed after Mayweather shifted direction on the original plan. Pacquiao has held his position that the fight is agreed, even as the timeline drifts.

The 2007 De La Hoya fight remains one of the key points in this argument. De La Hoya kept Mayweather at range, and won rounds through activity. Mayweather made adjustments down the stretch, tightened his punch selection, and landed cleaner shots, which secured a split decision.
