Unbeaten contender names Benn as preferred opponent while set for Nahir Albright rematch May 16
Keyshawn Davis says he wants a future fight with Conor Benn and predicts a stoppage. The unbeaten junior welterweight made the comments while preparing for his May 16 rematch with Nahir Albright.
“I will stop Conor Benn,” Davis said to Ring Magazine. “Guarantee I will stop him. Easy money. I would love to fight Conor Benn. When I move up, I would love to fight Conor Benn or Devin Haney, but give me Conor Benn. I’m stopping him for sure.”
Keyshawn is definitely joining a crowded room, and while the easy money talk sells tickets, the actual logistics of getting Benn in the ring with him anytime soon are slim.
Benn has become the ultimate lottery ticket at 147. Everyone sees him as a high-reward, manageable-risk fight, especially after he looked a bit more human and got cut against Regis Prograis earlier this month.
The comments are the latest sign of Benn’s growing value in the market at 140 and 147 pounds.
Davis also mocked Benn’s physical dimensions and said he would struggle to land cleanly against him.
“I will fight all of them,“ Davis said. “But you talking about who I want to pick and fight? I will fight Conor Benn’s short ass. He is little. Like, I’m taller than him. He’s got little T. rex arms. He’s not hitting me.”
Before Davis can chase bigger fights at welterweight, he still has work to do at 140 pounds. He is scheduled to face Nahir Albright in a rematch on May 16 in Norfolk, Virginia.
Davis beat Albright by majority decision in October 2023, though that result was later changed to a no contest. He looked sharp in his first outing at junior welterweight when he stopped Jamaine Ortiz in the final seconds of their fight earlier this year.
Benn may have other options on the table, but Davis made one thing clear: he wants in line.
