Davis challenged Lomachenko to face him in a comeback bout after reports linked the former lightweight champion to a late-2026 return

Keyshawn Davis wants Vasiliy Lomachenko’s comeback fight and says he would knock out the former unified lightweight champion if they meet later this year. Davis called out Lomachenko publicly after reports stated the Ukrainian star plans to return in late 2026 following his retirement and split with Top Rank.

“Fight me for your first fight back,” Keyshawn said to Fight Hub TV.

“Come on. Let’s do it, Loma. Fight me. Lomachenko. I come to Ukraine. Loma, you are a legend. But if you decide to fight me, I’m knocking you out just like Berinchyk. Facts.

“He not on my level. Really a lot of these guys not on my level and I just be going there trying to show it. So I feel like the only way to show it is knock him out.”

Keyshawn also revealed that Top Rank selected Nahir Albright for Saturday’s rematch after he offered other names for consideration.

“Top Rank wanted the fight,” Keyshawn said.

“I say about three different opponents that everybody knows, but they just wanted to go with Nahir for their personal preference.”

Keyshawn made the comments before Friday’s weigh-in, where he later came in over the 140-pound limit for the Albright rematch.

The weigh-in miss also renewed questions about how long Keyshawn will remain at 140 pounds after only recently leaving the lightweight division.

That could complicate a fight against Lomachenko, who spent most of his career as a smaller lightweight and featherweight.

Keyshawn said he still expects to produce a stoppage against Albright on Saturday night in Norfolk despite the difficult weight cut.

“The tougher they are, the harder I come,” Keyshawn said. “I feel like he’s going to come in there better than before, and I’m going to stop him.”

Lomachenko has not fought since stopping George Kambosos Jr. in the 11th round in May 2024 to capture the IBF lightweight title.

The two-time Olympic gold medalist later stepped away from boxing following reported back issues that affected plans for a fight against Gervonta Davis.

Lomachenko also became a promotional free agent this week after his contract with Top Rank expired.
