Conor Benn Eyes Ryan Garcia as Keyshawn Davis Calls Him Out

WBC mandatory Conor Benn lines up welterweight return with Ryan Garcia in play as Keyshawn Davis demands a fight next

Conor Benn is lining up a return to welterweight with a WBC title shot against Ryan Garcia under discussion for September. Keyshawn Davis has already stepped in with a direct callout, pushing himself into the picture if Benn stays at 147.

Benn hasn’t fought at 147 since stopping Chris van Heerden in April 2022. Since then, he moved up in weight for two fights with Chris Eubank Jr., competing as high as middleweight. His most recent outing came earlier this month at a 150-pound catchweight, where he stopped Regis Prograis.

Despite the time away from the division, Benn remains the WBC’s mandatory challenger at welterweight and is expected to return there next. A fight with WBC champion Ryan Garcia has been discussed for a September card tied to Netflix.

If Benn stays at 147 beyond that, Keyshawn Davis wants in.

“I will stop Conor Benn, like guarantee, I will stop him. Easy money. Easy. So, I would love to fight Conor Benn when I move up, I would love to fight Conor Benn or Devin Haney, but bro, give me Conor Benn. I will stop him, for sure,” said Keyshawn to the InsideRingShow.

Davis has fought once since losing his lightweight title, beating Jamaine Ortiz at super lightweight in January. He is set to face Nahir Albright in a rematch in three weeks, again at 140 pounds.

The 27-year-old Keyshawn is expected to move up to welterweight soon, which could put him on a collision path with Benn if both remain in the division.

Keyshawn is still settling into the 140-pound division. His last outing was a strong stoppage of Jamaine Ortiz in January, but he has a rematch with Nahir Albright coming up on May 16 in Norfolk.

Even if he wins that, he is currently campaigning at super lightweight, while Benn has been fighting as high as middleweight and most recently at a 150-pound catchweight against Regis Prograis
