Jarrell Miller Slams Deontay Wilder Win, Pushes for Fight

Miller criticizes Chisora result and says feud with Wilder has become personal ahead of Pero bout

Jarrell Miller has criticized Deontay Wilder’s recent win over Derek Chisora and is again pushing for a fight between them. The heavyweight says the rivalry has turned personal as he prepares to face Lenier Pero.

Wilder has now won back-to-back fights for the first time since 2019. He returned with a victory over Tyrrell Herndon last June before edging Chisora earlier this month, results that have moved him back into the picture for another major heavyweight bout..

“No, [I wasn’t impressed by his performance against Chisora]. He looked like super**t. I don’t think that Chisora was 100% in that fight because, compared to the last three fights that Chisora had, his conditioning was a lot better, he looked a lot stronger [in those fights],” said Miller to Fight Hub TV, reacting to Wilder’s performance against Chisora.

“He looked a little flat in this one and Deontay looked like supers**t.”

Miller also said he still wants Wilder in the opposite corner and claimed the dispute between them now goes beyond normal fight talk.

“I would love to fight Deontay, but Deontay has said multiple times, ‘I am never going to fight Miller,’ and then later on, after I talk more st, ‘I am never going to fight Miller because he is so disrespectful.’ I’m like, ‘you is a punk b*h, we are fighters, bro!’”

The two heavyweights have exchanged insults for years without meeting in a professional contest. Wilder previously claimed he sent Miller to the hospital after a hard sparring session.

Miller added that personal issues away from boxing increased the hostility between them.

“It’s a little personal, because he made it personal. I never made it personal. I’ve always had respect for him as a big brother because we were in camp a few times, but then he took the word of his ex over some stuff that I told him, and he took it the wrong way. Then, he came to find out that I was right.”

Miller returns on Saturday against WBA No. 2 contender Lenier Pero. A victory would strengthen his own standing and could keep talk of a Wilder matchup alive later this year.
