The WBO has ordered Devin Haney to face Keyshawn Davis, but Team Haney remains publicly focused on Shakur Stevenson

Bill Haney says a fight between Devin Haney and Shakur Stevenson remains the priority despite the WBO ordering Devin Haney to defend his welterweight title against Keyshawn Davis. Speaking to Fight Hub TV, Haney described Stevenson as the biggest fight available and reiterated his support for a proposed 144-pound catchweight.

“What’s the biggest fight in boxing to be made right now?” Bill Haney said.

As the discussion shifted back toward the possibility of Devin Haney facing Stevenson, Haney remained consistent in his position.

“Shakur Stevenson and Devin Haney,” Bill said. “At least we got a chance to reach what we’re talking about.”

Pressed again on Keyshawn’s place in the welterweight picture, Bill suggested the Norfolk native had not been forgotten.

“This thing has been brewing for seven, eight, nine, 10 years, whatever it has been,” Bill said. “Just relax, and we’re going to get there, okay? We’ll get there. You know what I mean? Because he’s on the list. You know what I mean? He was on the list before he was on, and he’s going to stay on the list.”

Bill also repeated his support for a proposed 144-pound showdown between Devin and Shakur, describing it as a fight both sides have publicly expressed interest in making.

“144 is cool,” Bill said. “We already sat down like businessmen. We ready to make it happen.”

Bill Haney’s comments come despite the WBO already ordering Devin Haney to defend his welterweight title against Keyshawn Davis. While Team Haney continues to publicly prioritize a showdown with Shakur Stevenson at 144 pounds, the mandatory challenger remains an obstacle to those plans.
