TODD duBOEF: We are weeks away from this highly anticipated match between two Hall of Fame fighters. Tim has shown an incredible rebirth, beginning with his November fight in his union with Teddy Atlas. He did what no one had ever done, stopping Brandon Rios. He is motivated and a classy person inside the ring and a classy, classy person outside the ring. We are really excited to hear what he has to say and how he is preparing for this fight. He just found out today that Everlast has signed Tim (http://goo.gl/utpZTx). As he is winding down his training camp days I think it’s a good time to talk to him and Teddy.

Atlas talks Pacquiao-Bradley 3 fight

YouTube video

Do you think Bradley won the first meeting? When I first watched the fight in a room full of people and not giving full concentration I thought Tim lost. But having watched it again, with full concentration, I thought Tim won at least six rounds.

Manny Pacquiao-Tim Bradley III Apr. 9th date in jeopardy, as Philippine elections committee is asked to stop the fight

Manny Pacquiao-Tim Bradley III Apr. 9th date in jeopardy, as Philippine elections committee is asked to stop the fight

There is a chance the rubber-match between welterweights Manny Pacquiao and Tim Bradley will not go ahead as scheduled on April 9th in Las Vegas. The reason is, today (local time) the Philippine elections committee was asked by Pac-Man’s senate candidate rival Walden Bello to stop the fight as it would give Pacquiao unfair publicity and exposure ahead of the May 9 elections.

Bello insists a law, put in place to give candidates equal publicity when entering an election, will be broken if Pacquiao’s fight, and all its TV, radio and print exposure, goes ahead. Bello, ESPN.com reports, wants the fight postponed until after May 9th.

Can Manny Pacquiao score a KO over Tim Bradley in their third fight? Freddie Roach says Pacquiao has told him he wants a KO this time

It’s probably fair to say most fans were not exactly blown away with the quite recent announcement that superstar and certain Hall of Famer Manny Pacquiao would, in his “last fight,” face former rival Tim Bradley. Fans, most of them anyway, wanted Pac-Man to exit the sport against a young tiger such as a Danny Garcia or a Keith Turman (not that warrior Bradley is either old or in any way a poor fighter, far from it).

Roach thinks Arum wanted to protect Crawford from Pacquiao

Roach thinks Arum wanted to protect Crawford from Pacquiao

Trainer Freddie Roach believes a possible reason why the unbeaten Terence Crawford (27-0, 18 KOs) wasn’t put in with Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs) for his next fight because Top Rank promoter Bob Arum might have wanted to protect the 28-year-old Crawford from being pushed into such a tough fight at an early point in his career.

Instead of Pacquiao fighting Crawford, which was a fight that a fair amount of fans wanted to see, Arum selected Tim Bradley (33-1-1, 13 KOs) for a third fight against the Filipino star. Pacquiao and Bradley will now be facing each other on April 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Roach: Crawford rejected Pacquiao fight

Roach: Crawford rejected Pacquiao fight

In a really surprising bit of news, Manny Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach is saying that unbeaten WBO 140lb champion Terence Crawford (27-0, 19 KOs) turned down a fight against Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs) for April 9th. Roach says Crawford said no to a fight against Pacquiao, and that Top Rank promoter Bob Arum said they wouldn’t try and get Crawford to take the fight with Pacquiao yet.

Pacquiao said last week that he plans on fighting for the last time against WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley (33-1-1, 13 KOs) in their fight on April 9th on HBO pay-per-view from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Gilberto Ramirez vs. Arthur Abraham possible for Pacquiao-Bradley 3 undercard

Gilberto Ramirez vs. Arthur Abraham possible for Pacquiao-Bradley 3 undercard

By Carlos Ortiz: While the main event of the Manny Pacquiao vs. Tim Bradley 3 rematch may not be a big deal for April 9th, the potential co-feature bout between WBO super middleweight champion Arthur Abraham and Gilberto Ramirez (33-0, 24 KOs) could be a good one if Top Rank promoter Bob Arum can get the fight made. The Pacquiao-Bradley 3 fight card will be televised on HBO pay-per-view from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. The two fighters fought each other twice before with Bradley winning the first fight in 2012, and Pacquiao winning the second fight in 2014.

Arum promotes the 24-year-old Ramirez and he believes he’s not only capable of beating the 35-year-old Abraham, but also becoming a star along the same lines as Saul “Canelo” Alvarez. Ramirez has the size, power and the movie star looks to be another Canelo, but it still remains to be seen whether he can accomplish the same things as the red-haired Mexican star.
