Plenty of people really do enjoy seeing a big mouth shut. Closed. Silenced. Humbled. And in this great sport of ours, a fan favourite in this department took place a decade ago today.
It’s arguably the finest, most meaningful and impressive win of Amir Khan’s entire pro career. It’s a close points loss that still bugs the loser all these years later.
How about this for an amazing claim: Marcos Maidana has posted a picture on social media that he shows Floyd Mayweather’s tooth.
It seems Argentine warrior and fan favourite Marcos Maidana cannot shake the desire to have just one more fight. As fans may recall, “El Chino” announced a comeback some months ago, the then 35 year old calling out all manner of big names, his plan to return after his second decision loss to Floyd Mayweather in 2014.
Though the weight he had piled on during his retirement was coming off, and though a number of names had been mentioned as far as who his comeback opposition might be, Argentine warrior Marcos Maidana has reportedly decided to scrap his planned return to the ring.
Argentine warrior Marcos Maidana is serious about his comeback at age 35, and proof of this is the fact that, slowly but surely (but perhaps quicker than some anticipated), “El Chino” is ridding himself of the excess weight he piled on whilst thoroughly enjoying himself in what was thought to have been his permanent retirement from the sport.
Talk about a rematch no-one really expected. There is more news regarding the planned ring return of Marcos Maidana. As per a news piece from RingTV.com,
Talk of an imminent ring return by former 140 and 147 pound action warrior Marcos Maidana will not go away. A while back, a clearly overweight “El Chino” posted a short video clip of himself at work in the gym, with Maidana then looking into the camera and calling out a number of big names including Canelo Alvarez and Manny Pacquiao.
A video surfaced yesterday, showing a, shall we say, out of shape Marcos Maidana calling out everyone from Floyd Mayweather to Canelo Alvarez to Amir Khan.
