Former long-reigning WBO cruiserweight king Marco Huck will put the disappointment of his scrapped summer fight with Ovil McKenzie behind him, as he will face dangerous contender Dmytro Kucher in Germany on November 19. Huck, who last boxed in February – beating the tough Ola Afolabi in their fourth meeting, this fight being Huck’s first fight back since losing his WBO belt to Krzysztof Glowacki in a great action fight last year – will defend his IBO belt.

Ovill McKenzie withdraws from Marco Huck fight on 9/24
Ovill Mckenzie has been forced to withdraw from his challenge for the IBO World Cruiserweight Championship against Marco Huck on medical grounds. Mckenzie, 36, was due to face Germany’s Huck this Saturday 24th September at the Festhalle Arena in Frankfurt.
Derby-based McKenzie, 25-12-1 13 KO’s, narrowly missed out on claiming a World Title when he pushed former IBF ruler Emilio Ramirez to a controversial draw in Argentina last October and is devastated at missing out on another opportunity to win world honours.
Huck wants to go to war with Glowacki for a second time, convinced he can gain revenge
Back in August of last year, cruiserweight champ Marco Huck, defending the WBO crown he won way back in 2009, went to war with unbeaten Polish hard man Kryzsztof Glowacki in his American debut. To the surprise of his fans, Huck was stopped in dramatic fashion in the 11th-round – but not before a great fight, which featured some incredible two-way action, was fought.
Huck stops Afolabi
Coming off of a bad knockout loss, 31-year-old former WBO cruiserweight world champion Marco Huck (39-3-1, 27 KOs) was able to score a 10th round TKO win tonight over IBO cruiserweight champion Ola Afolabi (22-5-4, 11 KOs) at the Gerry Weber Stadium in Halle, Germany. The fight was stopped by referee Jack Reiss after the 10th round had ended.
He halted it because of Afolabi’s left eye being swollen shut. Huck had been hammering Afolabi with right hands to the eye from the very start of the fight. In the 1st round, Huck rammed his head accidentally into the face of Afolabi, and that obviously didn’t help Afolabi’s eye any.

Marco Huck Stunned on US Debut by Kryzystof Glowacki

Little known Krzystof Glowacki pulled off a stunning upset in New Jersey last night, knocking out long reigning WBO cruiserweight champion Marco Huck in the 11th round of a thoroughly entertaining scrap, sending the large Polish contingent in attendance at the Prudential Center absolutely wild.
Glowacki was flat on his back in the 6th after a solid left hook, and after rising to his feet looked as if he might get waved off, but he showed a lion hearted grit and determination to take the fight back to the German based champion, ably weathering the crisis.
