The most highly anticipated boxing match of 2016 is just around the corner. On November 19 undefeated light heavyweight world champion Sergey ‘Krusher’ Kovalev (30-0-1) will defend the title against undefeated former super middleweight champion Andre ‘S.O.G.’ Ward (30-0-0). The bout will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, and features two of the best pound for pound fighters in the world, both of whom are in (or very close to being in) their respective absolute primes.

On Thursday, Nov. 17, WBO, WBA and IBF Light Heavyweight World Champion Sergey “Krusher” Kovalev (30-0-1, 26 KOs) and Two-Time World Champion Andre “S.O.G.” Ward (30-0, 15 KOs) participated in the final press conference for their Nov. 19 “Pound For Pound” showdown at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV. The final press conference was hosted by renowned ring announcer Michael Buffer. The event will be produced and distributed live by HBO Pay-Per-View beginning at 9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. PT.
Most people understandably see tomorrow night’s big fight between Sergey Kovalev and Andre Ward as a classic Boxer Vs. Puncher showdown. Kovalev, the world light-heavyweight ruler, is the puncher, Ward, the former dominant super-middleweight king, the boxer. But is there a chance their roles could be swapped in Las Vegas?

Andre SOG Ward (30-0-0 18KOs) and Sergey “Krusher” Kovalev (30-0-1, 25KOs) are set to do battle on Nov 19th, at T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, NV. Krusher is expected to throw bombs starting with the opening bell. Undoubtedly, he will experience more than a little difficulty landing on Ward, a moving target and one that strikes back in a blur.
Ward is admired for his ring generalship. Carl Froch explained it best when he described it this way……Ward controlled the distance. He was either too close or too far away….. He might have added “too low” too.

“Training camp was excellent. I did the first half in Boca [Raton], Florida and the second half we did up in Oxnard. It was great. I brought in Cicilio Flores for strength and conditioning. Everything was great.

NABO Junior Welterweight Champion Maurice “Mighty Mo” Hooker (21-0-2, 16 KOs) and Two-Time Olympic Gold Medalist Claressa “T-Rex” Shields participated in a media workout in Las Vegas, NV on Monday, Nov. 14, ahead of their undercard appearances on Kovalev-Ward “Pound For Pound” taking place Saturday, Nov. 19 at T-Mobile Arena.
