ESPN Friday Night Fights Ending Season in Style: Woods vs Cloud, Urango vs Bailey

ESPN Friday Night Fights will close out its 12th season with two marquee title fights on Friday, Aug. 28. The ESPN2 coverage of the fights will begin at 10 p.m. ET and the star-studded card will feature IBF Jr. Welterweight champion Juan Urango against #1 challenger Randall Bailey. Also, IBF #1 Tavoris Cloud will face #2 Clinton Woods in a fight for the vacant IBF light heavyweight championship. The defending champion Urango (21-2-1, 16 KOs) was born in Columbia but currently resides in Hollywood, Fla. Bailey (39-6, 35 KOs) of Miami, Fla., will bring a wealth of experience to the title fight including four consecutive victories..

In the co-feature, a 12-round light heavyweight bout, the undefeated Cloud (19-0, 18 KOs) of Tallahassee, Fla., will battle Woods (42-4-1, 25 KOs) of Sheffield, England for the title.

“This is such a solid night of boxing,” said ESPN’s Teddy Atlas. “These are legitimate title fights that showcase some outstanding skill and style. It is definitely must-see boxing and a fantastic night for boxing fans.”

Ringside for analysis and his unique perspective will be ESPN’s Atlas, who will be joined by Bob Wischusen. Bernardo Osuna will join the telecast as an on-site reporter while ESPNNews anchor Kevin Connors will host from the studio.

ESPN360.com will also provide live coverage of the event, which will originate from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Ft. Lauderdale.

The stacked fight card caps off a season in which ESPN featured five world title fights aired across ESPN platforms including ESPN2, ESPN Classic, ESPNDeportes and ESPN360.com.

Saving the best for last, the season finale of ESPN2’s Friday Night Fights on August 28th at the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida is stacked with a championship doubleheader featuring Juan Urango vs Randall Bailey and Clinton Woods vs Tavoris Cloud.
