A former United States amateur champion, Oxnard’s “Dangerous” David Rodela (12-1-2, 6 KO’s) is hitting his stride in the pro ranks with a series of big wins over the last two years, including victories over Jose Luis “Mapachito” Soto Karass, Julio Gamboa, Ramon Ayala and former world champion Kevin Kelley. Fresh off of a ten-round win over Marlon “Rata” Aguilar in January, Rodela will be put to the test by fellow prospect Juan Garcia (14-2, 5 KO’s). A native of Phoenix, the versatile and technically sound Garcia tore through his early opposition, building up a 14-0 record in the process. Two recent losses have stalled his progress, but the 22-year-old is looking to get back on track by beating Rodela on June 11th.

Paramount, California’s Charles Huerta (10-0, 5 KO’s) has had a busy 2009 thus far with a split decision victory over veteran Andres Ledesma and a unanimous decision victory over Gregorio Torres. On June 11th, the unbeaten featherweight returns to show his Southern California fans just why he is considered to be one of the 126-pound division’s brightest prospects. Huerta will fight an opponent to be determined.

In addition to Rodela and Huerta, the card is packed with Southern California locals including two special televised attractions featuring Santa Ana’s Luis Ramos (10-0, 5 KO’s) in a four round lightweight battle and Ricky Lopez (3-0, 2 KO’s) of Oxnard who will face Missael Nunez (4-8-2) of Los Angeles in a four round featherweight bout. Also in action will be Jose Roman (4-0, 3 KO’s) of Santa Ana against Wilmington’s Ramon Flores (3-5-1, 3 KO’s) in a four round junior lightweight brawl and Cornelius Lock (18-3, 11 KO’s) of Detroit against Filipino Los Angeles resident Vernie Torres (27-12, 15 KO’s) in a six round featherweight match.

“Fight Night Club” will present boxing in a night club atmosphere, with a DJ, music and a VIP room, as well as a unique setup where the ring is on Club Nokia’s stage with a standing room area for fans in front of the ring, as well as reserved seating in the balcony. After the boxing action ends, fans will have a chance to hear great music played by LA’s hottest DJ’s, dance and mingle with the fighters as the venue will convert into a night club.
