Aaron Williams in ESPN2 Co-Feature This Friday

Cruiserweight prospect, Aaron Williams (16-0, 11 KO’s), will be the co-main event on ESPN2’s “Friday Night Fights,” April 4th at the Twin River Event Center in Lincoln, RI. Williams is taking a big step-up when he meets former NABO champion, Andre Purlette (40-2, 35 KO’s) in the 8 round co-feature..

In his last appearance on ESPN 2, Williams brutally knocked-out Deleon Tinsley in the 2nd round. The stunning KO was featured on ESPN’s Sports Center, hourly, as the “ESPN Play of the Day.” Tinsley went on to upset previously unbeaten, Alfredo Escalera, Jr. in his next fight.

A Cleveland native, Williams currently lives and trains in Las Vegas, NV under the watchful eye of world class trainer and former WBA Light Heavyweight Champion, Eddie Mustafa Muhammad.

Since inking a promotional contract with New England promoter Jimmy Burchfield’s Classic Entertainment & Sports, Williams has claimed Providence, RI. as his second home.

“The fans in Providence and the New England area are very knowledgeable boxing fans,” said the 21 year old Williams. “They are very supportive and I plan on giving them a memorable performance.”

After a spirited 10-round sparring session with Duncan Dokawari at the Top Rank Gym, Williams had the look of a confident and ready fighter.

“Duncan is a big guy,” said Williams. “He’s 6’ 4”, 235-240 lbs. He’s bigger, stronger and hits harder than Purlette.”

Trainer Eddie Mustafa Muhammad has put Williams through a grueling camp. The former world champion feels the hard work will pay-off on April 4th.

“Aaron is boxing beautifully,” said Muhammad. “I normally have him working with Chad (current Light Heavyweight king-pin, Chad Dawson), but I wanted him to work with Duncan, because of his size and strength. Aaron is in dog-shape and you’re going to see the fruits of his labor on April 4th.”

“Awesome” Aaron Williams is managed by Albert Falcon and Patrick Doljanin. His conditioning coach is highly regarded, Axel Murillo. Murillo is also the conditioning coach of current WBC Light Heavyweight champion Chad Dawson.
