Roy Jones Jr. – Prince Badi headlines Saturday night’s “Hold Nothing Back” PPV in Boise

BOISE, Idaho (July 25, 2006) – Styles make fights and well matched opponents equal great entertainment. Saturday night’s “Hold Nothing Back!” pay-per-view event in Boise has it all in a strong, exciting top-to-bottom card featuring three former world champions. Five-time world champion Roy Jones, Jr. (49-4, 38 KOs) challenges North American Boxing Organization light heavyweight champion Prince Badi Ajamu (25-2-1, 14 KOs), rated No. 6 by the World Boxing Council and No. 7 by the World Boxing Organization, in the 12-round main event on “Hold Nothing Back!”

William “KO King” Guthrie (33-3-2, 26 KOs), ex-IBF light heavyweight title-holder takes on prospect Luke Munsen (19-5, 13 KOs) in a 12-round title fight for the vacant IBF International cruiserweight belt.

Former IBF cruiserweight champion “King” Arthur Williams (42-14-1, 29 KOs) fights Idaho icon Kenny Keene (51-3, 28 KOs) in a 10-round Special Cruiserweight Attraction. Keene has won 43 of his 44 fights (25 KOs) in Idaho, including a 22-1 (12 KOs) record in Boise, and his only loss there was nearly 10 years ago. He is the former WBF, IBC and IBA cruiserweight champion.

“Hold Nothing Back!” — presented by Xyience, Inc. in association with Sports and Entertainment Media, Inc. (SEMI) and Knockout Promotions — will be broadcast live in North America on cable and satellite PPV beginning at 9 PM ET/6 PM PT. The event is being produced and distributed for North American Pay Per View by Integrated Sports and will be available in more than 50-million homes in the United States and Canada via InDemand, TVN, DirecTV & Dish Network in the US and Viewer’s Choice & Bell ExpressVu in Canada. The suggested retail price for the PPV telecast is only $24.95.

“Our show offers boxing entertainment at a bargain,” SEMI Director of Operations Ritch Danner proclaimed. “Three, maybe four of these bouts are main event caliber. There are three well conditioned, former world champions fighting their way back to the top. Living legend Roy Jones, Jr., who wants to write the next chapter of his legacy, fights a legitimate world class fighter in Prince Badi, somebody who’s ready to break into the elite class among light heavyweights. Idaho hero Kenny Keene needs to beat Arthur Williams to get his dream fight WBA title-holder Virgil Hill later this year. Cruiserweight prospect Shawn Hawk, one of the top prospects in boxing, is flying high and a group of hungry, young up-and-comers make up the undercard.

“There are no cupcake fights on this card. The combined record of all the fighters on our show is an amazing 309-53-8 with 209 knockouts. The three scheduled pay-per-view fights are Jones-Prince Badi, Guthrie-Munsen and Keene-Williams. These six fighters have an accumulative record of 219-31-4, 148 knockouts, 10 world championships, and nine regional titles. If there are any early knockouts some of the other fights will be shown, too. Where are real boxing fans going to get a bargain like that for only $24.95?”

Also on the card in a 10-round Special Heavyweight Attraction is veteran Frank Wood (26-3, 18 KOs), the reigning Mid-South heavyweight title-holder, against Derrick Brown (12-2-1, 10 KOs), who is managed by Christy “Coalminer’s Daughter” Martin.

Unbeaten Crow Creek Sioux cruiserweight Shawn Hawk (11-0, 8 KOs) rated No. 19 by the North American Boxing Association, fights Doug “The Kid” Kaluza (17-5-1, 10 KOs) in an eight round match.

Boise light welterweight Hilario Lopez (8-4, 6 KOs) faces Steve Marquez (7-7-1, 6 KOs) in a six-round bout. Marquez’ younger brother, David Marquez (3-1-1), is tangles with Caldwell (ID) light middleweight Edgar Hernandez (3-0), whose nephew, lightweight Mario Hernandez (3-0, 2 KOs), also from Caldwell (ID), squares off against Jaime Rodriguez making his pro debut.
