Witherspoon, Pryor, Hearns and Paez To Be Featured This Weekend On Shobox

30.06.06 – DiBella Entertainment will present boxing fireworks this Fourth of July Weekend, with star power on both “Shobox: The New Generation” and The Best of Broadway Boxing, on consecutive nights. “ShoBox: The New Generation” will air LIVE on Saturday, July 1, 2006 (9 p.m. ET/ 6 p.m. PT) from the Little River Casino Resort in Manistee, Michigan. Featured on the card are the undefeated sons and relatives of former boxing legends Tim Witherspoon, Tommy Hearns, Buddy McGirt, Aaron Pryor and Jorge Paez..

Tommy’s son Ronald Hearns (8-0, 6 KO’s) will put his skill to the test against Hector Hernandez (8-1-2, 3 KO’s) in an eight-round middleweight showdown. Tim’s cousin Chazz Witherspoon (12-0, 7 KOs) will take on undefeated Mike Alexander (11-0, 8 KO’s) in a ten round heavyweight bout that will send one fighter away with a blemished record.

Legendary Buddy McGirt’s son James McGirt Jr. (11-0, 1 NC, 7 KO’s) will battle Aaron Pryor’s son Stephan Pryor (9-1, 6 KO’s) in another eight round middleweight bout. Unbeaten Jorge Paez Jr. (9-0, 7 KO’s) against Armand Horn (13-1, 11 KO’s) in a six-round junior welterweight bout.

For the second punch of the knockout combo, DBE presents The Best of Broadway Boxing IV, which will feature the premier knockouts and hardest hits seen in the exciting Broadway Boxing Fight series. The raw punching power and artistry of Jaidon “The Don” Codrington, John Duddy, Peter “Kid Chocalate” Quillin, and Jerson Ravello will be featured in the action packed review. Also included are the lost fight of Russell Jordan (10-2, 6 KO’s) vs. Henry Humphrey (7-4, 6KO’s) from the undercard of the October 21, 2005 Broadway Boxing, and the sensational, see-saw battle and 2005 Fight of the Year candidate that featured Michael Warrick (18-2, 11 KO’s) vs. Jeffrey Resto (18-2, 12 KO’s) II from the April 28, 2005 Broadway Boxing. The episode will also include a segment dedicated to Curtis “Showtime” Stevens, the most devastating knockout puncher in Broadway Boxing history, featuring some of his biggest blows and best knockouts. Spanish Harlem’s Edgar “El Chamaco” Santana will be spotlighted as well. Broadway Boxing fans will also get a chance to voice their opinions on the best of the biggest hitters, as information will be provided on how fans can vote for Broadway Boxing’s Best Knockout.
