Unbeaten unified champion commits long-term ahead of Brooklyn bout with Jaron Ennis on DAZN PPV
Xander Zayas has signed a multi-year extension with Top Rank ahead of his June 27 fight with Jaron Ennis in Brooklyn. The agreement keeps the unbeaten unified junior middleweight champion tied to the company as he enters the biggest fight of his career.
Zayas (23-0, 13 KOs) will defend his WBO and WBA junior middleweight titles against former unified welterweight champion Jaron Ennis on June 27 in Brooklyn, New York, in a DAZN pay-per-view main event.
Top Rank president Todd duBoef said the company has watched Zayas grow from a 16-year-old prospect into a unified champion and believes his best years are still ahead.
“We signed Xander at 16 and have watched him grow from a gifted teenager into a unified world champion,” duBoef said. “He won his first world title at 22, unified in his first defense, and is now preparing for the biggest fight of his career thus far.”
Zayas said staying with Top Rank gives him the chance to keep representing Puerto Rico on the sport’s biggest stage.
“I’m blessed to continue representing Puerto Rico at the highest level of the sport with Top Rank,” Zayas said. “Thank you for all these years and for giving me the opportunity to grow and bring glory to my country and family.”
Manager Peter Kahn said the extension was the right move as Zayas enters the prime years of his career.
“Extending this partnership was the right strategic move as we now focus on more unifications, multiple divisions, global events, and defining Xander as one of the faces of the sport,” Kahn said.
Zayas signed with Top Rank in March 2019 at age 16, becoming the youngest fighter ever added to the company’s roster. He won the WBO title in July 2025 when he defeated Jorge Garcia, then added the WBA belt by beating Abass Baraou in January to become a unified champion.
