Tim Tszyu Scores Impressive 5th Round Stoppage Over Dennis Hogan

Moments ago in their all-Australian 154 pound clash, Tim Tszyu scored an impressive 5th round stoppage over Dennis Hogan. 26 year old Tszyu, son of course of the great Kostya Tszyu, had way too much for the ten years older man. A huge left uppercut to the head dropped Hogan in the fifth and Hogan did incredibly well to get back up.

Moments later, however, a relentless Tszyu barrage forced Hogan’s corner to do the merciful and correct thing and throw in the white towel of surrender. The time was 2:29
Tszyu is now 18-0 with 14 KOs. Hogan, who has now lost three fights on the bounce, falls to 28-4-1 with 7 KOs.

Tszyu boxed quite brilliantly today, showing maturity and all-round skills. A clash of heads in the second round left Tszyu with a cut to his left eye yet he carried on with his business. In the 3rd, a wicked Tszyu body shot all but doubled Hogan completely over.

The one-sided fight was then ended in clinical fashion by Tszyu, who really is knocking down the door for a shot at a world title. Tszyu is the WBO mandatory at 154 pounds and champ Brian Castano had better get ready for a hard night’s work should he face Tszyu.

Tszyu really is far more than just a good fighter with a famous surname. Tim Tszyu is looking like a superb fighter.
