Tim Bradley Reacts To Claressa Shields-Baumgardner Altercation

Bradley criticized how the confrontation unfolded on video after Shields was later banned from future MVP events

Tim Bradley publicly questioned Claressa Shields after video surfaced showing her altercation with Alycia Baumgardner during the MVP MMA 1 event over the weekend. Bradley focused on the timing of the slap and argued the confrontation looked different once security and other people surrounded the fighters.

“That video surfaced when they first had the confrontation. There was nobody around them. It was like they was face to face. Face to face,” said Bradley on his channel.

“So my question is at that point, why didn’t you slap her then?

“Like Claressa, why didn’t you? If you had that hostility in your heart, that hate in your heart, yeah, you let that out, but why didn’t you slap her then when she was right in front of you?

“That would have been cold. This right here is a little bit sussy, man. It’s like, wait, hold up. People around her and stuff, you snuck your hand in there.”

Bradley also joked about Baumgardner’s reaction to the slap and questioned the security around the fighters during the incident.

“Baumgardner, your defense is still lacking, girl. I ain’t going to lie. Your defense is lacking.

“You got to protect yourself at all times. I don’t understand. Please don’t tell me those are your bodyguards because damn.

“You got popped, right? Imagine if it was something else. You would have got popped. Come on.

“You got to work on your slipping and your reactions. That was too easy.”

MVP later issued a statement banning Shields from future events, calling the incident “unacceptable” after accusing her of physically attacking Baumgardner inside a VIP area.
