Tim Bradley Picks Terence Crawford Over Floyd Mayweather

Hall of Famer cites power and switch-hitting as edge in fantasy fight between unbeaten greats

Tim Bradley has picked Terence Crawford to beat Floyd Mayweather in a fantasy fight between two unbeaten stars. Bradley points to Crawford’s power and ability to switch stance as the difference.

Bradley said Crawford’s power, timing, and ability to switch stances would be too much for Mayweather, who retired 50-0 and is often placed near the top of all-time pound-for-pound lists.

“Crawford. He’s got too much power, man, too much power for Floyd. He’s just as smart as Floyd is,” said Bradley to ESNEWS. “He has excellent timing. He can go both ways. Floyd don’t really like facing southpaws. Zab Judah was getting his ass before he ran out of gas. I’ve said this for years, I got Crawford all day.”

The matchup has long appealed to fans because both men solved opponents with skill rather than relying only on physical advantages. Mayweather built his later career on defense, control, and round-winning discipline. Crawford was more offensive, changing stance mid-fight, pressing when needed, and often closing the show once he had opponents figured out.

Bradley’s Judah reference points to Mayweather’s 2006 fight with Zab Judah, when Judah had early success before fading late. Bradley believes Crawford’s switch-hitting style would create similar problems, only with a greater finishing threat.

Crawford has usually shown respect when asked about Mayweather and has said Floyd was one of the few fighters who could have tested him.

There is no answer to a fantasy fight like this, but Bradley’s view will get support from fans who value versatility and power over a spotless record.

If they fought at 135 pounds, “Pretty Boy” Floyd might have the edge in pure speed and work rate to win a decision. But at 147 pounds, where Crawford’s power has translated so naturally, and Mayweather became more of a defensive specialist, Crawford has a very real chance of being the one man to finally crack the code.
