Crawford reiterates retirement stance after Turki Alalshikh raises possibility of second fight with Canelo Alvarez

Terence Crawford says he has no plans to return to the ring despite renewed talk of a rematch with Canelo Alvarez. The suggestion, raised by Turki Alalshikh, comes after Crawford’s win at 168 pounds before his December retirement.

Alalshikh recently mentionend the idea of bringing Crawford out of retirement for a second fight with Alvarez, following their September bout in which Crawford moved up two divisions and won a unanimous decision.

The win saw Crawford add another major title at 168lbs before announcing his retirement in December, closing his career unbeaten.

“They still want me to come out of retirement and whoop some people. What more can I ask for, man? I’m blessed. Life is beautiful right now, and I’m enjoying every bit of it,” Crawford said in a social media video reposted by FightHype.

Alalshikh also made a light comment online suggesting Crawford could return in the future, adding to the ongoing discussion around a possible second fight.

The conversation has continued to follow Crawford even after retirement, with his name regularly brought up whenever major fights at 168lbs are discussed.

There has been no indication from Crawford that he is reconsidering his decision, despite continued interest in the matchup.

Alvarez is expected to return later this year after recovering from elbow surgery, which ruled him out of his usual spring appearance. He is set to face Christian Mbilli for the WBC super middleweight title in Riyadh.

Mbilli was elevated to full champion after Crawford left the division, leaving Alvarez with a route back to a title at 168lbs.

Crawford’s position has remained unchanged, leaving any rematch talk dependent on a shift that has not yet materialized.
