Lucrecia Manzur pushes Serrano through 12 tough rounds, while Jahmal Harvey steals the undercard with a crushing second-round finish.
Amanda Serrano secured the 50th victory of her professional career with a majority decision over Lucrecia Manzur tonight at Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, California. Serrano (50-4-1, 32 KOs) kept her WBA, WBO and Ring featherweight belts, but Manzur (14-5, 7 KOs) forced the champion into a hard 12-round fight that produced one draw card and two debatable 116-112 scores.
The champion wanted a record-setting 33rd knockout. Manzur had other ideas.
Serrano still reached a significant career marker, although the scorecards gave her considerably more breathing room than the fight itself. The bout also became the first unified women’s championship contested across 12 two-minute rounds and headlined the first championship boxing card streamed live on TikTok.
Jahmal Harvey supplied the night’s most destructive punch. The 2024 U.S. Olympian broke down Hammet Keb before detonating a right hand that dropped the Mexican heavily at 2:48 of round two. Harvey improved to 4-0 with three KOs and collected MVP’s Performance of the Night bonus.
Melissa Mortensen (10-0, 5 KOs) survived an early knockdown to seize the vacant WBA super bantamweight title from Mayelli Flores (13-3-1, 4 KOs) by split decision. Flores dropped the Dane in round two and hurt her again in the fifth, but Mortensen fought her way back with combination punching and straight right hands to take two 95-94 cards. Flores received the third 95-94.
Avious Griffin (20-1, 19 KOs) dismantled Jackson Marinez (23-5, 11 KOs) after Marinez initially found a home for his left hand. Griffin steadily closed the distance, pinned him along the ropes and dropped him twice during a punishing fifth round. Marinez beat both counts, but his corner had seen enough and stopped the welterweight contest before round six.
Keno Marley (3-0, 2 KOs) imposed his size and pressure on Braylan Brooks (1-1, 1 KO), dropping him with a right hand for a third-round knockout. Heavyweight Nelvie Tiafack (5-0, 4 KOs) overwhelmed Salvador Zavala (7-1, 5 KOs) until the referee intervened 55 seconds into round three.
Brook Sibrian (10-3, 4 KOs) produced one of the card’s stronger upsets, outworking Lupita Medina (12-1, 3 KOs) over eight rounds. Sibrian attacked the body, forced Medina backwards and earned scores of 77-75 and 78-74 twice.
Cinderella Linnear (2-0) edged Jully Poca (1-1) by split decision over four junior welterweight rounds, while Roxy Verduzco (8-0, 1 KO) defeated Miguelina Hernandez (4-1, 3 KOs) by the same route over eight rounds.
Albina Moldazhanova (5-0, 5 KOs) needed only 81 seconds to demolish Sheila Liesegang (6-1, 4 KOs), dropping her with a body shot and extending her knockout run to five. Jocelyn Camarillo (7-0, 1 KO) outpointed Ashley Felix (7-5, 1 KO), while Paolo Barredo (7-0, 2 KOs) controlled Jorge Garcia (3-2, 3 KOs) across six rounds.
Serrano kept the belts and reached 50 wins. Manzur’s pressure supplied the harder truth from Temecula: Serrano had to fight for distance and clean counters all night, and those 116-112 cards looked kinder to the champion than the rounds did.
