Jaron Ennis Says He Would Have Knocked Out Terence Crawford

Welterweight contender revisits long-discussed matchup as Crawford’s retirement keeps outcome unresolved

Jaron Ennis says he would have stopped Terence Crawford if their long-discussed welterweight fight had been made. With Crawford now retired, the matchup remains one of the division’s biggest unanswered questions.

Crawford retired unbeaten after a late-career run that saw him secure undisputed titles in multiple divisions. His stoppage win over Errol Spence Jr. cemented his standing, and he followed that with victories over Israil Madrimov and Canelo Alvarez to close out his career.

Before moving up in weight, Crawford had been repeatedly linked to Jaron Ennis, who was rising through the welterweight ranks at the time. The fight was discussed but never finalized, with timing and positioning often cited as the obstacle.
Ennis has remained consistent in how he views that matchup.
