Bicep tear rules Anderson out of Sol Dacres bout as Manchester card loses co-main option

Jared Anderson is out of the May 9 Manchester card after a bicep tear, removing his scheduled fight with Sol Dacres. The withdrawal leaves Fabio Wardley vs Daniel Dubois as the only heavyweight bout on the show.

Anderson had been scheduled to face Sol Dacres in a bout that carried some value beyond the matchup itself. It was set to mark the American’s first outing under a co-promotional arrangement involving Queensberry Promotions and Top Rank, and a chance to restart momentum after a difficult stretch.

The 25-year-old has boxed only once since his knockout loss to Martin Bakole in 2024. Activity was becoming the bigger issue than talent, and this setback adds more delay at a time when heavyweights his age need rounds and visibility.

There has been no immediate confirmation on whether Sol Dacres will stay on the event with a replacement opponent or be removed entirely.

That leaves Wardley vs. Dubois carrying even more of the load. It was already the clear selling point of the show, matching Wardley’s aggression and improving form against one of the hardest punchers in the division. Now it becomes the only heavyweight fight on the card unless a late replacement is found.

The undercard still has useful domestic fights. Jack Rafferty moves up to welterweight to face Ekow Essuman, while Liam Cameron meets Brad Rea at light heavyweight.

Elsewhere, unbeaten Khaleel Majid takes on Gavin Gwynne in another solid domestic matchup.

The event takes place at Co-op Live Arena and will air on DAZN. Anderson’s withdrawal hurts the depth of the card, but Wardley-Dubois was always the fight carrying the real weight.
