Eddie Hearn Rejects Dana White Claim Over Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua Fight

Hearn calls White’s comments “contractually impossible” as Netflix plans raise promotion questions around heavyweight showdown

Eddie Hearn has dismissed Dana White’s claim that he will promote the Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua fight later this year, calling the idea “contractually impossible.” The dispute adds more uncertainty around the heavyweight event as Netflix prepares to broadcast the card.

The Fury-Joshua fight was recently described as “signed and sealed,” although several details about the event still remain unclear. Joshua is scheduled to take a tune-up against Kristian Prenga in July, while Fury has also been linked to taking an interim fight before the two heavyweights finally meet.

Netflix is expected to broadcast the event, creating questions about who will officially promote the card because both Matchroom and Queensberry are tied closely to DAZN.

White recently suggested he would take the lead role on the promotion after becoming more involved in boxing through the Zuffa-backed partnership with Turki Alalshikh.

“Such a clout chaser. Not a chance, and contractually impossible. Let me know when you find your balls,” said Eddie Hearn, reacting to Dana White’s claim on social media

The reaction adds another layer to the increasingly public friction between Hearn and White since the UFC boss entered boxing promotion.

Fury’s recent Ring Magazine event listed Spencer Brown of Goldstar Promotions as lead promoter rather than Frank Warren, while Hearn is expected to front the May 23 “Glory in Giza” card headlined by Oleksandr Usyk and Rico Verhoeven.

That has left the Fury-Joshua situation looking less traditional than a standard Matchroom-versus-Queensberry event. Turki Alalshikh and Ring Magazine have become central figures in the biggest heavyweight fights, while promoters who normally control their own cards are now operating inside a much different structure.

Even with both fighters moving deeper into their careers and no heavyweight titles involved, Fury vs. Joshua is still viewed as one of the biggest fights available in boxing because of the years of rivalry and missed negotiations attached to it.
