Ryan Garcia says he still intends to sue Devin Haney over comments made following their April 2024 fight. Garcia confirmed his plans while promoting his September 12 WBC welterweight title defense against Conor Benn, keeping one of boxing’s most bitter rivalries alive outside the ring.

Asked during an interview if he still intended to sue Haney over comments made after their April 2024 fight, Garcia said he would be.

“Yeah, for sure. I am,” said Ryan to Fight Hub TV.

Ryan has repeatedly maintained that Devin falsely portrayed him following the failed drug tests that overturned Ryan’s victory into a no contest. He has insisted the positive tests involved trace contamination rather than intentional performance-enhancing drug use, while Haney has continued to criticize him publicly.

The threat of a lawsuit keeps one of boxing’s most heated rivalries alive long after the opening bell rang in Brooklyn. Since their fight, the two have traded insults across interviews and social media, with Ryan also threatening legal action over what he considers defamatory remarks.
