Bill Haney Teases DAZN News, Puts Rivals On Notice

Boxing 24/7 Wire - 10/20/2026 - Comments

Bill Haney is hyping an upcoming DAZN announcement for Devin Haney, warning rivals they cannot run anymore. What he left out is the only detail fans actually care about, which is the identity of Devin’s next opponent.

Filming inside an office on social media, Bill called the meeting “top secret,” rubbed his fingers together in a classic cash gesture, then shouted out “DAZN global.”

“By the time you see this, it’s too late,” Bill proclaimed. “You have no choice. You can’t get out of the way.”

Bill clearly thinks a massive move is locked in for Devin. Yet, he skipped naming an opponent, locked down no date, and gave zero specifics on the structure. The teaser could mean a multi-fight broadcast contract, an individual bout, or an overarching promotional partnership. His video confirmed nothing.

Flashing that cash sign was Bill’s clearest hint. It implies fresh financial muscle to help Devin chase marquee names under the Haney banner. Securing that capital would let Bill publicly call out rivals for dodging lucrative offers.

Deep pockets still do not guarantee signed contracts. Purse splits, catchweight demands, network entanglements, and promoter rivalries routinely kill bouts backed by serious cash. With the Shakur Stevenson talks already dead, empty hype will not satisfy boxing fans looking for real action.

Declaring that rivals have “no choice” sounds great for the cameras. Nonetheless, any real rollout must reveal what leverage Devin actually gained, along with the names he can deliver to the ring.

Cashing in on a major DAZN platform represents smart business. Still, the crowd will measure success entirely by the quality of the opposing corner, particularly after Bill claimed nobody can duck Devin anymore.

Bill crossed Liam Paro off the list in a separate clip, wiping out one logical choice. With Shakur off the table, the pool of marquee opponents is shrinking fast, making Bill’s sky-high confidence an intriguing mystery.

Calling Oscar Duarte the grand reveal after months of bragging would trigger pure disgust from fans. Duarte is a rugged fringe contender who got dropped and stopped by Ryan Garcia, so parading him out as the centerpiece of a blockbuster DAZN global pact is comical. It fools nobody.

The well is almost completely dry for Devin. Hitchins is locked up with Zuffa, Keyshawn turned his attention elsewhere, and Ryan Garcia is eyeing Teofimo Lopez for early 2027 rather than rushing to give Haney a payday. Arnold Barboza Jr. would put an arena to sleep, and Duarte offers zero intrigue beyond watching Devin jab and hold his way to an uneventful decision.

Sitting out eleven months following an ugly, clinch-filled display against Brian Norman killed whatever momentum Haney possessed. Burning almost a full year chasing a Shakur Stevenson fight that went nowhere looks foolish in hindsight.

If Bill goes on social media flashing money signs just to announce a keep-busy bout against Duarte, the backlash will be swift. Bill promised nobody could get out of the way, but taking a safe walkover opponent proves Haney is the one running out of viable roads.
