Judge Denies Request To Recall Active Gervonta Davis Warrant

A Maryland court left Davis’ probation warrant active following his January arrest in Florida on domestic violence-related charges

A Maryland judge denied another request from Gervonta Davis’ attorneys to recall an active probation warrant tied to the fighter’s January arrest in Florida. Baltimore County court records show the warrant remains active after a May 22 ruling rejected the latest motion from Davis’ legal team.

Baltimore County court records show Circuit Judge Althea M. Handy first issued a warrant on February 2 after Davis was arrested in Miami on domestic violence-related charges. Davis’ legal team later filed a motion arguing that he would cooperate with law enforcement, leading to the warrant being recalled on February 10, according to ESPN.

A second warrant was later issued on April 24. Another motion filed by Davis’ attorneys asking for the warrant to be recalled was denied on May 22, leaving the warrant active.

The reason for the denial was not listed in the court database.

Davis, 31, had been serving probation tied to a November 2020 hit-and-run case in Baltimore that injured four people.

The latest legal issue stems from allegations involving Davis’ ex-girlfriend, Courtney Rossel, who accused him of attacking her at a Miami strip club on October 27, 2025, where she worked as a VIP cocktail server. Rossel later filed a civil lawsuit connected to the accusations.

The allegations forced Davis out of his planned November fight against Jake Paul.

Florida authorities arrested Davis on January 14 on charges of battery, attempted kidnapping, and false imprisonment. He was released later that day after posting an $8,500 bond and ordered to avoid contact with Rossel.

The false imprisonment charge was later dropped, but the battery and attempted kidnapping charges remain active.

Baltimore County court records currently list the probation warrant as active, and Davis would reportedly be held without bond if arrested.
