Rafael Marquez – Wilfredo Vazquez Jr on 8/4

Some Puerto Rican prospects will fight in the undercard of “The War, Puerto Rico vs Mexico” where former world champions Wilfredo Vázquez Jr. and Rafael Marquez will face on August 4, at the Coliseo Ruben Rodriguez in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, in a PR Best Boxing Promotions (PRBBP) presentation, in association with All Star Boxing, Top Rank and Promociones Zanfer, to be televised on Pay Per View.

“Besides the headline fights, we have great Puerto Rican prospects in action like undefeated Camilo Perez, Israel Vazquez and John Karl Sosa just as world contender Juan Mercedes and an interesting fight between two warriors like Osenohad Vazquez and Anthony Sanchez”, promoter Ivan Rivera, PRBBP president, said.

Mercedes (26-3, 17 KOs), a Dominican fighter who lives in Puerto Rico, will fight a foe to be named in a super flyweight bout schedules to eight rounds. Mercedes is the WBO #7 ranked in the super flyweights.

While, in a six round bout, Osenohad “Cano” Vazquez (6-1, 2 KOs) will fight against Antonio “Anthony” Sanchez (5-1, 3 KOs) in the junior welterweight division. Also scheduled to six rounds, 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games Gold medalist, Camilo Perez (7-0, 4 KOs) will fight in the super bantamweights versus a rival to be announced.

In four round bouts, Israel “El Heredero” Vazquez (6-0-2, 5 KOs), Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. brother, will fight against a foe to be named in the junior flyweight division, and junior welterweight prospect John Karl Sosa (2-0, 2 KOs) will face an opponent to be determined.

Headlining the show, Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. (21-2-1, 18 KOs), former WBO super bantamweight champion, will face Rafael Marquez (41-7, 37 KOs), former IBF bantamweight and WBC super bantamweight champion, for the WBO International super bantamweight title, Roman “Rocky” Martinez (25-1-1, 16 KOs), former WBO junior lightweight champion, will fight against Miguel Beltran Jr. (27-1, 17 KOs), for the WBO NABO junior lightweight title, in a WBO world title eliminator, and former Olympian McJoe Arroyo (10-0, 5 KOs) will face Miguel Tamayo (12-3-2, 11 KOs) for the super flyweight WBO NABO title in a bout scheduled to 10 rounds.
