TKO Boxing Promotions Hits Greeley, Colorado On Saturday, January 8th

World class professional boxing will hit Greeley, Colorado for the first time in over twenty years as TKO Boxing Promotions in association with Ghost Town Promotions brings its nationally acclaimed HOMETOWN HEROES TO WORLD CHAMPIONS boxing series to the Island Grove Park Exhibit Hall on Saturday, January 8th. Advance tickets for the ROCKY MOUNTAIN RUMBLE, starting at $25, can be purchased at the Longmont Boxing Gym in Longmont and the Jesus Rodarte Cultural Center in Greeley. The Island Grove Park Exhibit Hall is located at 501 N. 14th Avenue in Greeley, Colorado. Doors on the night of the event will open at 6pm with the first bell at 7pm.

Featured at the ROCKY MOUNTAIN RUMBLE, sensational featherweight prospect Robert Rodriguez will be making his highly anticipated hometown pro debut. The 20 year old former amateur standout has quickly impressed boxing fans across the country with his world class skills.

In his first five professional bouts, Rodriguez, 5-0-0 (1KO). has pitched four shutout unanimous decisions and scored one first round knockout.

Longmont’s Raul “El Chino” Carrillo, will also see action at the ROCKY MOUNTAIN RUMBLE. The hard hitting, welterweight prospect has quickly become a Colorado fan favorite, stopping six of his first seven opponents since turning professional in December 2008.

Most recently Carrillo stopped undefeated prospect Joel Vargas in the fourth round on July 9th in Denver, Colorado.

Local junior middleweight Ryan Grimaldo will return to battle at Island Grove Park. The aggressive, all-action Grimaldo is undefeated in his first five professional bouts with a record of 5-0-0 (4KO’s).

Returning to his hometown state of Colorado is Terry Buterbaugh. The junior welterweight, 6-4-1 (3KO’s), battled twice in the last six months in New York City.

On June 5, 2010, Buterbaugh upset New York City fan favorite Tommy Rainone by way of six round unanimous decision at Yankee Stadium. Buterbaugh returned to New York City on October 6th, losing a hard fought battle to local undefeated prospect Gabriel Bracero.

In the lightweight division, Colorado fight fans will be treated to a bout involving former world title challenger Edner “Cherry Bomb” Cherry. A native of the Bahamas, now living in Wauchula, Florida, Cherry brings a record of 27-6-2 (15KO’s) into action. The 28 year old Cherry has dropped down to the lightweight division and has ended three straight bouts by devastating knockout.

World class bantamweight prospect Leo “El Teremoto” Santa Cruz kicks off his 2011 campaign as part of the ROCKY MOUNTAIN RUMBLE. A native of Southern California, the 22 year old Santa Cruz, sporting an undefeated record of 14-0-1 (6KO’s), has stopped his last four foes in the first three rounds with thundering body shots.

Rounding out the card, in the flyweight division, Austroberto Juarez will put his undefeated record on the line in Greeley. The 25 year old Juarez, 10-0-0 (2KO’s), a native of Michoacan de Ocampo, Mexico, is coming off two shutout six round victories in 2010, over Ernie Marquez on June 3rd and Joseph Rios on July 2nd, both bouts held in Southern California.
