Shaw informed President Sargsyan that he plans to organize a Darchinyan world title fight in Armenia for spring 2010. Darchinyan, a two-division world champion, is a native of Armenia.

“Armenia has never hosted a professional boxing event much less a world championship fight, so who better to headline than Armenia’s No. 1 sports personality, Vic Darchinyan,” said Shaw. “President Sargsyan expressed his readiness to assist in the implementation of this event. He also expressed confidence that it would attract thousands of Armenian boxing fans and would be an excellent opportunity to present Armenia to the world since this would be televised internationally. It is because of them that I am afforded this wonderful opportunity.”

DEREK “POOH” ENNIS TO TAKE ON JAMES MOORE FOR THE USBA JR. MIDDLEWEIGHT TITLE ON OCTOBER 16TH AT THE LEGENDARY BLUE HORIZON

FIGHT WITH MAJOR IMPICLATIONS TO HELP CELEBRATE POWER PRODUCTIONS 10TH ANNIVERSARY SHOW

PHILADELPHIA (September 3rd, 2009)—On Friday night October 16th, Greg Robinson’s Power Productions will celebrate the tenth anniversary of the successful promotional company in grand style as a bout of major proportions will serve as the main event for the special card.

In a twelve round bout for the USBA Jr. Middleweight title, Derek “Pooh” Ennis will take on James Moore.

Ennis of Philadelphia has a record 18-2-1 with twelve wins coming by knockout. Ennis has been longing for this opportunity as he quietly has been climbing the ladder by racking up six consecutive wins which includes his latest outing being a six round unanimous decision over John Mackey on July 10th in a nationally televised contest by ESPN 2 at The Arena in Philadelphia.

In that bout, Ennis scored two knockdowns en route to the victory over the game visitor from Alabama. Ennis was undefeated in his first eleven bouts (10-0-1) before a knockout loss to Allen Conyers on Showtime.

Moore has a record of 17-2 with ten knockouts and brings a great fan base as he is very popular in the Irish circles especially in his adopted home of New York.

Moore is originally from Arklow Wicklow, Ireland and won his first fifteen bouts which included a ten round unanimous decision over former world title-challenger JC Candelo on March 15th, 2008. Moore was then upset by Philadelphia’s Gabriel Rosado before winning a bout against Christian Lloyd Joseph.

On December 13, 2008, Moore stepped up against Yuri Foreman (26-0) in highly publicized bout on Showtime. Moore came up a little short in that bout which could have catapulted him into a title opportunity. One win over Joseph De Los Santos on May 8th put Moore back in line for this critical fight against Ennis.

“This fight is fitting and appropriate for my 10th anniversary show”, Said, promoter Greg Robinson.

“The Blue Horizon is where I started and to have this kind of fight headline the show plus a packed undercard will make it a very special night. “

A full undercard will be completed shortly but already slated to appear are Jr. Welterweight Tyric Robinson (9-4-1, 3 KO’s), Featherweight Coy Evans (4-0-1) and Super Middleweight Jameel Wilson (13-16-3, 8 KO’s) in six round bouts.

In four round bouts, Middleweight Derrick Webster (2-0, 1 KO), Cruiserweight John Burgos (0-1), Jr. Middleweight Rachel Clark (2-2-1, 2 KO’s) Heavyweight John Mercurio (2-0, 2 KO’s) and Middleweight Mario Mina (2-0, 2 KO’s)

Kessler & Ward Featured Prior To Round One Of Super Six Boxing Classic LIVE – Only In Canada On Super Channel Fights

Super Channel Fights!, part of Canada’s only national pay television network, is proud to offer the undefeated super middleweight Andre “S.O.G.” Ward sharing the stage with his first Super Six World Boxing Classic™ opponent Mikkel “Viking Warrior” Kessler on a special Saturday primetime edition of Showtime’s ShoBox: The New Generation on Sept. 12.

Ward (19-0, 12 KOs) will tangle with Shelby Pudwill (22-3-1, 9 KOs) of McGlauglin, S.D., in a 10-round super middleweight scrap live from Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, California.

In his last fight Dec. 6, 2008, Pudwill beat Anthony Osbourne, with an eighth-round knockout. Inactive in all of 2007, Pudwill suffered a loss in his fight before Osbourne to John Duddy in 2006. Pudwill took eight straight wins into the Duddy fight – hadn’t lost for almost five years – from June 2001 to March 2006.

The Ward fight will air LIVE immediately following Mikkel Kessler World Boxing Association (WBA) super middleweight mandatory title defense against No. 1 ranked Gusmyl Perdomo of Turmero, Venezuela, offered on same-day tape delay from Herning, Denmark.

“As the mandatory challenger, Perdomo deserves to fight for the title (but) I want to take my WBA belt into the tournament.” said Kessler. “(This) is the last obstacle that I need to overcome. I will be prepared and I will be ready. I will definitely not underestimate him.”

Viewers will be treated to Kessler’s showcase title fight preceding his Super Six World Boxing Classic™ showdown with Ward scheduled for Nov. 21, 2009. Ward vs Kessler promises to be one of the most exciting fights of the year, pitting Team USA’s only Olympic Games gold medalist from Athens 2004 against Kessler of Copenhagen, Denmark, an early favourite in the tournament.

The action begins on Super Channel at 10 p.m. ET. It’s all on Super Channel Fights – unedited and commercial-free.
