On the Ropes is back in action with our exuberant host, the exquisite Miss Jenna J, along with her co-host Nick Powers and her special weekly guest, yours truly (aka-Rumsfeld). This week’s episode will be highlighted by a very extensive interview with former heavyweight champion, the great Larry Holmes. The pre-recorded interview touches on virtually every aspect of The Easton Assassin’s extraordinary legacy, as the champ provides tremendous insight into his sensational career both inside and outside the ring. Mr. Holmes also discusses his life after boxing and gives opinions on the current boxing landscape.

In addition to the Holmes’ interview, we will also discuss the latest breaking news in boxing, which unfortunately this week, includes yet another tragic death in the boxing world, former champion Vernon Forrest. Forrest was senselessly murdered during an armed robbery that saw him repeatedly shot with semi-automatic weapons.

In other news, we will discuss David Haye’s recent decision to pull out of negotiations for a proposed bout with Vitali Klitschko in favor of a showdown WBA champion, Nikolai Valuev. Bernard Hopkins also made headlines this weekend when he publicly stated that he wants the winner of the rematch between Chad Dawson and Glenn Johnson. We will also recap the interesting heavyweight clash between “Fast” Fres Oquendo and former champion Bruce Seldon. We will even briefly touch on Joe Calzaghe’s preposterous claim that he could defeat Wladimir Klitschko inside the squared circle.

Finally, we will share our thoughts on upcoming bouts, including two junior welterweight title clashes. First up we have the contest between WBO champion Timothy Bradley and Nate Campbell. This will be Campbell’s first fight in the 140 pound weight class and Bradley’s first fight since his impressive victory against Kendall Holt. We also have another interesting contest slated to take place between Junior Witter and Devon Alexander for the vacant WBC light welterweight championship. Both bouts will be televised Saturday night on Showtime.

Listeners are encouraged to call in and share their thoughts on the latest boxing news. Also, if you have any questions and are unable to call in or access our message boards, please leave a comment here and we will try our best to address your questions on the show.

Be sure to tune in!
