He is a Boxer!

By Coach Tim Walker – What is a detail? Is it simply isolated facts under consideration or is it something more? A boxer can spend an entire lifetime working on detail and never quite get it. It’s not for lack of effort that he creates these small adjustments to each individual strike. It is by pain that he likens them to the stroke of a master painter’s brush. It is this same pain that causes him to relish over what he creates. It is all intended to make the bigger picture clearer. Isn’t it?

Many times his learning resembles Picasso. Each line comparative to the mastery of a well handled Isabey. Without pause there are at least as many times that he eagerly regrets handling his tools at all and wishes closely that he had never escaped them from their corner. Internally wishing that they had all but collected like dry bones as he shuns having ever shown them to the world. At the end of those days he would have preferred to be anywhere else in the world instead of in front of the world on whose behalf he creates.

His art is more than an easy display. It is in fact who and what and how he is. It encompasses everything and recognizes the flawless pursuit to be more than just a day past. It is in this detail that he endeavors to be as necessary as tomorrow. He can not avoid the push for it refines him just as the brush refines its canvas. He is the art that he begins and the end that it produces.

He is detail and his presence is the culmination of committed refinement by fire. He is a Boxer.

This is truly my gut feeling about every fighter.

I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
