Susi Kentikian defends her WBA belt in Düsseldorf

susi kentikianSo far this year, fight fans have seen the “new generation” boxing stars from Hamburg’s spotlight boxing team in three stellar cards in different cities. The next stop is on September 7 at the Burg-Wächter Castello in Düsseldorf with eight interesting fights on the program. The “ProSieben Fight Night” headliners will be fan favorite Susi Kentikian and newcomer Dimitri Sartison. Doing live commentary at ringside will be Regina Halmich and Jan Stecker.

Reigning WBA flyweight world champion Susi Kentikian (17-0, 13) will make her third defense in a ten-rounder against Shanee Martin (8-3, 4 KOs) of England. As usual, the five-foot tall power packet from the spotlight boxing stable will have to overcome the physical advantages of her larger (5’4 1/2) challenger. In a previous world title try, Martin lost a controversial hometown decision against then-GBU champion Victoria Milo. She also handed up-and-coming German talent Rebekka Herrmann (also on the card) her only defeat.

Three more new “Fight Night” faces will deliver ring action worth seeing: Dimitri Sartison (20-0), Karolina Lukasik (7-0) and Gennady Golovkin (8-0). All unbeaten, talented, young and hungry.

A world title could be in the near future for the winner of an important super middleweight clash between top ten contenders. WBA #9 ranked Dimitri Sartison (20-0, 13 KOs) battles stablemate and #4 ranked Gusmyl Perdomo (14-1, 8 KOs) in a battle that is sure to have major implications in the world rankings.

WIBF super welterweight champion Karolina Lukasik will face the Argentinean Gabriela Marcela “La Aventurera” Zapata (6-2, 4 KOs) in what should be a very competitive fight. The bout will be for two belts, Lukasik’s WIBF belt and the vacant GBU title. In addition, the bout will be an eliminator for the WBC belt.

Middleweight Gennady Golovkin (8-0, 8 KOs) will demonstrate his spectacular boxing style and world class skills against Frenchman Mehdi Bouadla (11-1, 4 KOs). The highly regarded Golovkin was an amateur world champion.

A serious challenge is awaiting heavyweight and female heart throb Sebastian Köber (9-0, 9 KOs), who will put his perfect record on the line against tough Brazilian Edegar Da Silva (25-9, 19 KOs).

There is further female power on the undercard with flyweight Rebekka Herrmann (9-1, 2 KOs) and super bantamweight Magdalena Dahlen (5-0, 3 KOs) will appear in separate bouts. Herrmann will face Maria Kriwoschapkina (0-1), while spotlight-newcomer Magdalena “The Beast” Dahlen faces Eva Liskova (5-3-1, 1 KO).

Also scheduled is the third pro fight of heavyweight Vladimir Tereshkin (2-0, 2 KOs) who takes on Janos Somogyi (8-23-1, 5 KOs).
