“Super Saturday” Weigh-Ins, Don King Brings It To The Osceola Silver Spurs

03.02.07 – By Wray Edwards, photos by W.Edwards: Tomaz Adamek and Chad Dawson hit the scales in the Mandolins Restaurant at Raddison Resort Orlando for their 12 round, WBC, Light Heavyweight Championship bout this Saturday night on SOWTIME AT 9 P.M. The Main Event should be a real rumble as both fighters love to bang. The same can be said of the Semi-main contestants Jesus Chavez and Julio Diaz..

The rest of the card boasts such scrappers as Corey Spinks and Rodney Jones. One especially good issue was raised by ref Alfonso who announced a ten pound weight-gain limit would be imposed between the “official” weigh-ins and the pre-fight weigh-ins. Thank goodness, at least in the State of Florida, the commission is taking a step towards stopping the ridiculous practice of boxers weighing in and then going up three divisions before they fight.
