Cunningham-Wlodarczyk/Tokarev-Swartz: Card will go on amidst disaster

Hollywood, FL, November 23 – Amidst the aftermath of the Halemba Mine blast in the region of Silesia in Southern Poland, Seminole Warriors Boxing extends it’s condolences to the families, friends and victims of this tragedy. “This disaster will be on the hearts and minds of us all,” said Leon Margules, Executive Director of Seminole Warriors Boxing, who is in Poland for tomorrows Championship doubleheader held at the Torwar Sport Hall in Warsaw..

Poland’s President, Lech Kaczynski, declared three days of mourning after the last of the victims were found following an arduous 38-hour search more than 3,000 feet below the ground. As a result and out of respect for those affected by this disaster, the fights will be aired one hour later than the originally scheduled time.

“We hope that this historical event will assist in easing the minds and heartache throughout this region due to the tragedy that took place a few days ago,” said Margules. “Being a native of Poland, Wlodarczyk, has a heavy heart and is now more determined than ever to bring the World Title home in honor of those who have passed.”

Born in Warsaw, Poland, Krzysztof Wlodarczyk will get his long-awaited shot at a world title on Saturday, November 25th when he takes on unbeaten US contender Steve Cunningham for the vacant IBF Cruiserweight Championship in a bout which will be televised live over the Internet at www.VideoSport.com/boxing .

Also in action, undefeated Cruiserweight contender Vadim Tokarev will make his first ring appearance since his stunning fourth round TKO of previously undefeated Felix Cora Jr. in May when he defends his NABF Championship against Shane Swartz in a 12 round contest.
