The Argentinean Gonzalo Omar Basile, in his country known as the “Devil at Heavyweight”, was knocked down in the 1st round in front of 3.500 spectators at the Porsche Arena in Stuttgart. The Ukrainian, who lives in Hamburg, remains unbeaten with a superb record: 23 wins in 23 fights with 14 KO’s. He defended his WBO Interconti title for the third time..
Firat Arslan is the challenger for the current WBA World Champion at cruiserweight. He destroyed his spotlight-boxing stable mate Grigory Drozd and secured with this win the right to be named the official challenger for the WBA crown. The 36 year from Rottweil won by the decision of a technical KO in the 5th round and has now a record of 30 wins in 26 fights with 18 KO’s.
Jürgen Brähmer is back! The “hundred year talent” from Schwerin, celebrated his return to the ring with an impressive win. The 28 year old defeated the Argentinean Francisco Antonio Mora by knock down in round 8. A successful comeback!
Taras Bidenko was merciless. The heavyweight knocked the German Champion Andreas Sidon down in round 9 and secured the vacant WBA Interconti title.
Another heavyweight, Dieter Roth, was fleet – footed when he outscored the well experienced Hungarian Zoltan Petranyi. The 11th victory (7 KO’s) for Roth.
Aleksander Alekseev is also on the way up. The former European and World Champion during his amateur career, remains unbeaten. The 25 year old Alekseev won his 7th pro bout with 6 coming by KO. The Russian, who is based in Hamburg, outscored the Argentinean Luis Oscar Ricail after 6 rounds.
Richel Hersisia did not disappoint the crowd. The heavyweight from the Netherlands defeated the Brazilian Adenilson Rodrigues by KO in round 2.

Ruslan Chagaev and Alexander Dimitrenko promise an exciting „Universum Champions Night“ in Düsseldorf
The „Universum Champions Night“ in Düsseldorf will highlight four high class bouts.
Two strong women and World Champions Alesia Graf and Natascha Ragosina will support the headliners Ruslan Chagaev, in his WBA Eliminator against John Ruiz, and Alexander Dimitrenko against the American Billy Zumbrun.
Universum fighter and WBA Interconti Champion Ruslan Chagaev (21-0-1, 17 KO) will face the American John Ruiz (41-6-1, 28 KO) in a WBA heavyweight eliminator fight. This fight was won by Universum Box-Promotion at the purse bid in Miami in September and will be the first highlight of the evening.
With a positive outcome for Chagaev, he will than have a great chance to challenge the current WBA World Champion at heavyweight Nicolay Valuev out of the Sauerland boxing stable.
At the Universum Champions Night at the Burg Wächter – Castello in Düsseldorf on November 18th 2006, the heavyweight Alexander “Sascha” Dimitrenko (23-0-0, 14 KO) will replace Felix Sturm and supports the other heavyweight Ruslan Chagaev.
The unbeaten Universum boxer will face the American Billy Zumbrun (20-7-1, 11 KO). The 34 year old heavyweight has got a positive record and only lost by marginal decision against the former World Champion Riddick Bowe (USA). “Sascha” Dimitrenko made the headlines with his quick KO win over the Argentinean Basile and is now ready for another tough challenge on his way to a world title fight.

In a fight for the World Championship crown, Jr. Bantamweight Alesia Graf (15-1-0, 7 KO) from Stuttgart will put her GBU belt in jeopardy against the American Heather Percival. The Universum Box-Promotion championess will have her 4th title defence and wants to live up to her nickname “The Tigress” for another time demonstrates her strength.
Another highlight is the walk in of the WIBF World Champion at Super Middleweight Natascha Ragosina (11-0-0, 8 KO). The Russian lady out of the SES boxing stable faces Scroller Carrington (7-1-1, 4 KO) from Trinidad & Tobago and will defend her WIBF belt for the 3rd time.

The night of the Eurofighters in the Universum Gym on November 21st 2006

The night is themed with “back to the roots”. The next spotlight event, on Tuesday the 21st November from 6:15 pm, is taking place in the Universum Gym in Hamburg, the place where many World Champions were formed and trained. The unbeaten Eurofighters are headlined by Susi Kentikian, Vitali Tajbert, Karoly Balzsay and Sebastian Zbik.
Sebastian Zbik (15-0-0, 7 KO), one of the young and hopeful German middleweights, will be challenged by the strong and well experienced Brazilian Jose Hilton dos Santos (22-6-1, 12 KO), who had the current Universum World Champion Zsolt Erdei floored in March 2003. It will be a tough test for the 24 year old from Schwerin and an important milestone on the way to his first title fight.
Another hot prospect is Karoly Balzsay (13-0-0, 9 KO). The Hungarian will feature in another appetizing battle when he faces the Czech Michal Bilak (15-2-0, 8 KO). Balzsay will have to demonstrate his great boxing skills in this challenge with the SES – fighter. Bilak had lost in the past against another spotlight fighter, Dimitri Sartison and therefore needs to take this chance to continue his career.
Super featherweight Vitali Tajbert (7-0-0, 3 KO) wants to improve on his performance and add another win to his record in his bout against the Argentinean Fabian Valentin Martinez (14-13-4, 4 KO).
For the flyweight championess Susi Kentikian (13-0-0, 10 KO) it will be the first title defence when she meets Maya Frenzel (7-5-2, 1 KO) for her WIBF Interconti belt.

Universum middleweight and former World Champion Felix Sturm (25-2-0, 11 KO) will now have his first fight, after losing the World Champions belt, against the Australian Gavin Topp (20-2-2, 4 KO) in the German capital of Berlin.The new headliner for the Universum Champions Night in Berlin is Felix Sturm, who will face the Australian Gavin Topp. With this fight, Sturm has the chance to demonstrate he strengths and show that he learned from the defeat and is ready for the next shot for a world title fight.
In the other highlight in Berlin, his conqueror, the new WBA Middleweight World champion Javier Castillejo (61-6-0, 41 KO) from Spain, will have his first title defence against the Argentinean Mariano Natalio Carrera (29-4-0, 20 KO). This particular arrangement at the Estrel Convention Center will give the audience the opportunity to have a closer look and compare both boxers, Sturm and Castillejo, in their strengths and weaknesses.
A very sad rearrangement for Luan Krasniqi. His injury, which he suffered during training, is the reason for a change in the programme. In a training session in preparation for his fight in Berlin, he accidentally injured his knee with the diagnose: a strain in his cruciate ligament and a rupture of his capsule in his left knee joint. For the time being he won’t be able to continue his preparation for the boxing event in Berlin for the next 3 weeks.

A proud dad – Zsolt Erdei’s son Viktor is born
Joy and happiness in Neuötting, the hometown of his wife Arabella. WBO World Champion Zsolt Erdei became a father for the first time on Tuesday. He was over the moon when he announced the birth of his son Viktor: born at 6:29 pm, 54 cm and weighed 3750 gram. The birth went without any complications and Erdei was always at the side of his wife and new born son: “I’m so proud – my son is so cute! I want to cuddle him all the time because of joy and happiness!”

Universum Box – Promotion and spotlight boxing have been the one of winners at the annual WBO Convention in Florida by taking home a couple of awards: Boxing Promoter of Universum Box – Promotion, Klaus – Peter Kohl (62), is pleased with this years award of the “European Promoter of the year” after winning the “Manager of the year” in 2003. Also spotlight boxing Promoter Dietmar Poszwa (32) received an award for the “WBO Intercontinental Promoter of the year” and repeated his win from last year.
Since the first event in 1984, Universum Box – Promotion has developed a network which is named as one of the greatest and most successful one in the European boxing business. Universum boss Klaus – Peter Kohl is accompanied by Managing Director Stefan Braune as well as his son in – law Dietmar Poszwa. In addition there is matchmaker Hedi Taouab, who was named “Boxing globetrotter of the year 2006”, and technical director Jean – Marcel Nartz.
The awards of the “Unbeaten Champion 2006” were given to the Universum fighters Zsolt Erdei (32) at Light Heavyweight and Sergiy Dzinziruk (30) at Super Welterweight.
The fight of Jan Zaveck vs. Andrei Yeskin at the spotlight boxing event in Ptuj (Slovenia) on May 23rd 2006 was awarded with the “WBO Intercontinental fight of the year 2006”.
More international awards for Europe’s boxing institution
Universum Box-Promotion and spotlight boxing have received the award for the „Promoter of the year 2006“ at the WBC-Convention (29.10. – 4.11.06) in Croatia. With this award the outstanding work of the 2 boxing stables were honoured for another time. After the received awards at the WBO Convention two weeks ago, this distinction of the WBC (World Boxing Council) is another and special honour for successful work of Universum and other teams around the world.
