Schulze and Ragosina win titles

29.10.05 – By Per Ake Persson: Oranienburg, Germany: Local favourite Marco Schulze won the IBF I/C jr middle title by stopping Austrian Gotthard Hinteregger at 1.00 of the eleventh when Italian referee Angelo Musone stepped in to save Hinteregger from further punishment. The Austrian protested the call but was wobbly, not firing back and had throughout an “old” look about him as the young and fresh Schulze pressured him around the ropes.. Hinteregger was at times able to keep the challenger at bay but was trailing on points at the time of the stoppage. The new champion is a brave and tough fighter but looks fairly limited – but he’s a promoter’s dream and sells tickets.

Natasha Ragosina won the vacant WIBF suepermiddle title with a second round knockout over Tanzanian Monica Mwakasanga. Ragosina could probably have ended it in the first but took some time to warm up.

SES welter Jan Zaveck stopped once decent Frenchman Serge Vign in the fifth of a scheduled eight-rounder.

Universum cruiser Pavel Melkomian seemed to have an easy workout against German Rene Hubner but was caught in the fourth and even floored although it was ruled a no knockdown. Pavel shook his opponent in the eighth to secure a clear but not impressive win.

Ukrainian jr middle Stas Kashtanov took out Ramdane Kaouane in the first with a double left hook. Kashtanov had retired lightweight Andrei Sinepupov in his corner and looked good.

Lightheavy Mahamed Ali was upset by Russian Artem Vychkin and lost a six-round decision. Ali looked overconfident and by the time he realized he had a fight on his hand Vychkin was in full swing in a messy fight with few clean punches. Ali is signed to Spotlight Boxing and had looked very promising in his previous three outings.

Female fly Susiannia Kentikian stopped Bulgarian Svetla Taskova in the second and is ready for the best in her weight division.

Norwegian jr middle Nikita Dubunin unanimously outscored experienced Romanian Pavel Florin Madalin over four and showed promise.

The show was promoted by SES at the sold out T.U.R.M ErlebnisCity in Oranienburg.
