Zab Judah Says Keyshawn Davis Cannot Beat Devin Haney

Judah questioned whether Davis is physically ready for welterweight after renewed talk of a Haney fight following the Albright rematch

Zab Judah does not believe Keyshawn Davis is ready for Devin Haney at welterweight despite renewed discussion around the fight after Davis defeated Nahir Albright. Judah pointed directly to size and Davis’ performance on Saturday night while arguing Haney would still be too much for him at 147 pounds.

Haney stirred the discussion again after the fight when he reacted on social media to Davis’ performance in Norfolk. The matchup had already been discussed earlier this year after Davis stopped Jamaine Ortiz, though the talk cooled off once Haney moved fully into the welterweight division.

“I like Keyshawn, Keyshawn is a great fighter, I think that he had a great performance last night, but Keyshawn can’t beat Devin,” said Judah while speaking to MillCity Boxing.

“No way, not right now, not at 147lbs, no way.

“No disrespect and no side-eye to Keyshawn, that’s my little man, I rock with him, but based off what we seen last night, I don’t know [if Davis can beat Devin].

“I wouldn’t say that it is easy work, but I would just say that it is food and we gonna eat.”

Judah’s comments centered heavily on size. Davis has already spoken openly about struggling to make lightweight and hinted again after the Albright rematch that a permanent move to welterweight could be coming sooner rather than later.

Haney, meanwhile, appears to be searching for a new opponent after the expected rematch with Ryan Garcia lost steam once Garcia moved toward a fight with Conor Benn. That has left Davis near the front of the conversation for Haney’s first defense at 147 pounds.
