Former champion says added weight could hurt Dubois once Fabio Wardley starts applying pressure

Timothy Bradley questioned Daniel Dubois coming in at a career-high 251.7 lbs ahead of Saturday’s fight with Fabio Wardley. Bradley believes the added weight could hurt Dubois once the pressure and exchanges build in the middle rounds.

Bradley reacted strongly after Dubois tipped the scales significantly heavier ahead of his clash with WBO heavyweight champion Fabio Wardley in Manchester.

The ESPN analyst said the added weight will hurt Dubois once Wardley begins applying pressure and forcing exchanges in the middle rounds.

“How the hell you going to come in the highest weight of your whole damn career? Make that make sense, my boy. The highest weight of your whole career,” said Bradley on his YouTube channel, talking about Dubois’s weight at the weigh-in on Friday.

“The same thing that happened to Joseph Parker. Oh, you getting your ass knocked out, my boy. Yeah, you getting knocked out.

“Wardley ain’t playing. Wardley came in same weight. Same weight he came in his last fight. He going to knock your ass out.

“Wardley, all you got to do, man, is come behind your jab. You bag this man up. You make him panic.

“He got that extra weight on him too. He gonna gas out a lot quicker.

“Put that pressure on his ass, Wardley. I promise you going to get his ass up out of there before six rounds,” Bradley said on social media.

Bradley also praised Wardley’s defensive instincts and claimed the unbeaten heavyweight has more technical ability than many fans realize.

“Wardley got some skills. I like that pull counter you use too,” said Tim.

“I saw Wardley using that against Joseph Parker. Go back and watch. He was sliding inside that right hand. He wasn’t sliding outside going across it. He was sliding inside that getting low,” Bradley said.

Wardley enters the fight unbeaten and defending his WBO title for the first time, while Dubois is attempting to rebuild after his second stoppage loss to Oleksandr Usyk.

The fight has become one of the most discussed heavyweight matchups of the year because of the aggressive styles both men bring into the ring. Bradley, however, believes the outcome becomes simple if Wardley forces Dubois backward early and keeps constant pressure on him.
