Ghana’s Emmanuel ‘Game Boy’ Tagoe will have the opportunity to win the IBO version of the world Lightweight title come November 25 when he battles experienced Argentine, Fernando David Saucedo for the vacant belt in Accra.

Announcing the fight at the plush Alisa Hotel in the Ghanaian capital on Thursday, Sammy Anim-Addo, CEO of BabyJet Promotions who will stage the bill explained that his outfit put in tremendous effort to get the rights to make the fight and reserved special words of praise for UAE based Ghana national soccer team captain, Asamoah Gyan who doled out loads of cash to support the bid.

“It’s not been easy bringing this world title fight to Ghana, it’s one of those rare moments when Ghana will hold a world championship in the country. It’s very expensive but I thank Baby Jet Promotions President, Asamoah Gyan for his passion for boxing,” Mr. Anim Addo stated.

“He put a lot of money into our bid and thank God we can now stage the world title fight in Ghana and also win a world title for the country. Corporate bodies must also endeavour to support the promotion because it’s really expensive and an opportunity for them to market themselves,” he added.

Highly rated Tagoe who is currently ranked number 10 lightweight by the WBA and holds the WBA International lightweight belt, has won 26 straight fights (13 KOs) since losing on debut back in 2004. The man who has racked up not less than eight different titles over the years has assured his fans and countrymen to get ready to usher in their new world champion next month, notwithstanding the vast experience of the 34 year old Saucedo.

“I am the lion king of boxing, I’m telling you to come and witness history as I win the world title. I love Ghanaians and I’m desperate to make everyone proud and this is the perfect opportunity to do it for us all,” Tagoe told Thursday’s press conference.

“I thank all my predecessors like Azumah Nelson, DK Poison, Ike Quartey, Joshua Clottey who won world titles for us. I’m also proud of my colleague Richie Commey who lost the world title fight recently, I’m very proud of his efforts and I will win this title to make him happy,” stated Tagoe famously nicknamed Game Boy.
