Davis controlled the rematch with sharp jabs, straight rights, and late combinations before winning wide on the scorecards in Norfolk

Keyshawn Davis (15-0, 10 KOs) outboxed and outworked Nahir Albright (17-3-1, 7 KOs) over 12 rounds Saturday night in Norfolk, overcoming a two-point deduction to win a wide unanimous decision in their rematch.

Davis established himself early, stepping to the center of the ring and pumping hard jabs while showing confidence from the opening bell. He mixed lead shots with straight rights and started finding openings by the third and fourth rounds as Albright tried to work from the outside.

Albright had his best success in the fifth. He caught Davis with a sharp right hand that briefly checked him and forced a response. Davis recovered quickly, but the shot changed his approach as he began sitting down on his punches and looking to answer with more authority.

The fight grew rough at times during the middle rounds. Both fighters tied up often, and frustration boiled over in the seventh when Davis lifted Albright during a clinch and threw him to the canvas. Referee intervention followed with a two-point deduction.

The point deduction forced Davis to pick up the pace.

He came out pressing in the ninth, firing straight rights down the middle and backing Albright up. Over the late rounds, Davis let his hands go more freely, mixing head shots and body work as he chased the stoppage.

Albright stayed tough and continued firing back, but he spent much of the late action defending and trying to survive Davis’ pressure. Davis finished stronger and closed the fight without leaving any doubt on the scorecards.

“I felt amazing. I felt good. He’s a crafty fighter. He’s been around. I tried to go for the knockout. We all saw that he was hurt. I just didn’t get it. But I got the decision, and that’s all that matters,” Davis said.

“He liked to punch and hold. He does that. So, he was on my neck, and I got angry and flipped him over.”

Davis also explained what changed after taking the right hand earlier in the fight.

“I felt like I was beating him up in every round. What really made me pick it up is that he caught me with one good shot. And I was like, ‘I’m about to beat you up now. You ain’t getting nothing else off.’”

The performance gave Davis another statement win in front of his hometown crowd and moves him toward bigger names, with the Norfolk crowd seeing him finish the rematch on his terms.
