Unbeaten two-division champion to have next fight announced shortly

Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez has signed a long-term contract extension with Matchroom Boxing. Promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed his next fight will be announced shortly.

Rodriguez first partnered with Matchroom in January 2022 and won a world title one month later with a victory over Carlos Cuadras. Since that point, every fight in his run has come at world title level, with Bam collecting belts at flyweight and super flyweight.

That stretch includes wins over Srisaket Sor Rungvisai and Juan Francisco Estrada, along with victories against previously unbeaten fighters Sunny Edwards, Phumelele Cafu, and Fernando Martinez. The level of opposition has kept him near the top tier of the sport.

Rodriguez said he wanted to continue working with the same team as he looks to add more titles in additional divisions.

“Matchroom has been my home for the last four years, and I can’t wait to keep making history with them by my side,” said Rodriguez. “We have many more world titles to win and new divisions to take over.”

Hearn said the deal secures one of the company’s key fighters as plans for Rodriguez’s next bout move toward confirmation.

“I’m delighted to extend our deal with Bam,” said Hearn. “Jesse is immovable in the top five of the pound-for-pound fighters in the world right now, and he could well be number one when it comes to delivering must-watch fights at the very elite level.

“Jesse’s next fight will be announced shortly, and this young man continues to take on the biggest challenges available.”
