Floyd Schofield Plans to Outbox Lucas Bahdi

Boxing 24/7 Wire - 10/09/2026 - Comments

Floyd Schofield plans to deliver a boxing clinic against Lucas Bahdi rather than relying solely on raw offense. In a pre-fight conversation, Schofield made it clear that fans usually miss his technical depth because of his relentless pressure.

Promising pure craftsmanship hits differently than the standard prediction of an early knockout. Schofield believes he can outthink Bahdi without turning every exchange into a slugfest, though sticking to that blueprint under real fire is always the hard part.

“Some skill. I feel like I just give the fans the aggression side. I don’t think they get to see me actually box,” Schofield said to Fight Hub TV. “So, I’m trying to bring back the old Floyd Schofield, the one that had the pro debut.”

Schofield called Bahdi a good fighter but said he intends to “take him to school.” He also expects Bahdi to become more cautious once he feels his power.

If that happens, Schofield will have to decide whether to stick with his boxing or press for a knockout. It’s easy to talk about taking your time before a fight. Once an opponent looks hurt, the temptation is to jump on him, and that can leave openings for a counter.

Schofield doesn’t have to hold back to show his skills. He can still put pressure on Bahdi while picking his shots and making him miss. The harder part is staying patient if Bahdi keeps him waiting for an opening or catches him coming in.

Bahdi’s team has already gotten under his skin. Schofield said their behavior fired him up, and he took exception to what he described as their cockiness. He sounded eager to make Bahdi pay for it.

That could bring out the aggression Schofield says fans have seen plenty of already. If he gets caught up in trying to punish Bahdi for his corner’s comments, his plan to show more of his boxing could disappear quickly.

Schofield has talked up a performance in which he outboxes Bahdi. Now he has to follow through against someone trying to beat him. If Bahdi makes the fight difficult, we’ll see whether Schofield trusts his skills or tries to force a finish.
