Early, breaking news reports are saying the troubled Tyson Fury-Wladimir Klitschko rematch is set to be officially postponed, again! According to a short piece from David Anderson of The Mirror, Fury has suffered another injury, meaning the heavyweight champ will not be ready for October 29th. As fans know, Fury suffered a reported ankle injury ahead of the original July 9 rematch date, and now it looks as though we will be getting a third date.

According to The Mirror piece, Fury’s camp notified Team-Klitschko earlier today, telling them that the October 29 date will now be scrapped. So far the exact details of Fury’s injury are not known. What is known is the severe test of patience fight fans have experienced already, and it’s unclear how much more fans will be willing to take. Fury has not boxed for over ten months and if the October date really is a gonner, the self-styled “Gypsy King” may face the prospect of being stripped of his titles due to inactivity.

Fury won the titles last November and unless the rematch with Klitschko can now be set before November 18th of this year (highly unlikely), and it actually goes ahead (seemingly almost as unlikely) the rules say Fury will be stripped. What a mess, is basically all anyone can say about this sorry situation right now. Fury seems destined to court controversy for as long as he remains a high profile figure.
